LE-MEGA DR6Chosen as I wanted an affordable portable with two speakers for stereo, and a colour screen for station logos as that's part of the magic for me.For the price this a great radio, it lives on the arm of my sofa and when I have time to myself I mute the depressing TV and enjoy radio instead. The stereo effect at that distance works well. It plays all DAB+ standards, including v2 with Parametric Stereo. Sound quality is fine for a small box as it is, with bass and treble being adjustable. Yes, DAB+ can sound a bit rough on close listening on the lower bitrate stations, but I can still enjoy the music. At least there's none of that hiss and other nasties you get with FM - just that good clean digital sound with occasional gritty treble. Best not to get too bogged down with perfectionism! With DAB they chose quantity over absolute quality, and I'm OK with that most of the time. If something sounds a bit off, I just jump ship to another station for a while.Reception ability is all I'd hoped it would be. No radio is going to pick up much if there's no usable signal where you are, but I put this portable on the roof of my car and it picked up all the same distant stations that my car was getting, so it's doing the job just fine. At home I'm a mile away from the local transmitter so I don't even need the aerial extended. You could rig up an external (or loft) aerial for more distant reception, with a crocodile clip (or similar) connecting to the aerial ... not perfect technically but I tried it with a loft aerial here and I got some distant stations perfectly which had been were marginal and breaking up with the telescopic on its own (from a neighbouring country - I'm really NOT in their intended service area!).Usability is OK. I do prefer my car radio for the single-button changing stations with presets (and the manual tune it offers too) but this is workable. Just turn the right knob to select a station, and press in that knob to select. Simple enough. It is a very light radio though, so you have to hold it with your hand while pressing in the knob with the thumb, otherwise you'd just push the radio away!"Full Scan" is quick enough to scan the whole VHF DAB band (channels 5A to 13F) and then you just select from the list presented after that. If you've moved out of range of some stations, you can use the "Prune" option to clear away those that are not receivable any more.Slideshow images are displayed from neighbouring French stations when high pressure weather brings those in, and station logos from most UK stations too where transmitted (BBC, commercial) but for some reason I don't see all the logos from my local DAB+ independent ensemble, or it takes ages for them to appear. I'm not sure why that is, when logos do appear for those stations on other radios but not on this radio. There must be an issue somewhere but I'm not sure where! There are other radios with similar displays but slightly different - those may be the ones that are more forgiving of whatever is causing the Le-Mega to choke. But they're mainly mono, so....It runs off USB power or 4AA batteries - NiMHs are OK too but you'll have to recharge them outboard. You *CAN* use the radio from mains powered USB *without* having batteries inside it, if there's any confusion over that.Overall I'm very impressed and I'm getting a lot of use out of it. Thinking of getting another, for work. Maybe one just for the bedroom!

Excellent little DAB+ radio with a super sound: this replaced a Pure DAB radio that no longer received my favourite stations as they have migrated to DAB+ transmissions.The stations preselect is a scroll system, so it takes a little getting used to (please read the instructions, it helps a lot!!!) but once mastered it’s quite straightforward; just a bit more of a fiddle than preselect buttons.As I bought this as a bedroom radio, I’m glad to report it has a lovely, simple 'sleep' button. Just repeatedly push the sleep button to set a time up to 90min.Note: the supplied mains cable is only about 1 metre long and in my case it just reached the mains plug.But overall, great value for the money and I’m delighted.

Good quality radio with great sound for the size of the unit. Features are good and easy to use. Would have given 5 stars but you will need to buy a longer type ‘c’ power supply lead, not even long enough for a bedside table. This may be the case with other models, but not a major problem.

Arrived today and it's set up already. DAB is amazing with plenty of channels. Power cable a but short but it's a common type c and longer ones are available in plenty.I'll be more than happy if these first experiences continue..

Arrived yesterday and set up this morning. Delighted that it's so easy to use, the sound quality is great and the stations are very easy to find and set. Good value too so, I'm very pleased.

Delighted with the rich sound quality, super clear display of what’s playing and the classy ‘wood’ and silver look. Took it for granted that such a superb design would charge the AA batteries in standby, like my 10 year old Roberts Solar DAB. Oh well, I can charge them up separately and still enjoy music in the garden, quietly thanks to the headphone socket! Still love it for the amazing value, useful Bluetooth and detailed stereo sound.
