It is feature-rich and durable.One important thing to note is that the power connection to the charging cradle is not the dongle that hangs off the side, that is for the interface cable. The charging port is hidden dead center under the charger in the cavity along the back. This is a poor design.

Sadly disappointed the phone connectivity " The reason I bought this set" requires Uniden Marine App. This app does not work. So Half the features do not work. Threw it off my boat but it floated back. Worthless product support.

This is an easy to use radio that has an automatic emergency signal triggered if it becomes submerged. It is our second. We bought the second because we were comfortable with the first.Caution however! It appears that the manufacturer doesn't provide spare batteries. So when the battery reaches End of Life, you need to buy a new radio. If I'd realized that up front, I probably would have looked for something else.

I really like the GPS location services and have successfully tested the radio with the Coast Guard. I wish there was a separate charging cradle option ... one charging cradle for the 110V (in the house) and a separate charging cradle for the boat (12V DC). Sell me a separate charging cradle please.

This radio has a Navigation function, Man Overboard function and can transmit distress messages which include your GPS position. For full functionality you will need an MMSI number. If you already have one for your boat, use that one. If you do not, you will need to get one. It’s really a lot of capability and safety features for a small handheld.

Marine radio that can’t handle water. I purchased this in 2019. I keep it in my PFD pocket while kayaking on ocean and the antenna is super long and in your face. I washed it off with plain water after every carry. Have used it—ie, turned it on, —only half dozen times while carrying. I sent in for repair in 2020 after I was told by repair group— I paid extra for the insurance through Amazon—and they returned with new battery and it charged all of two times and never took a charge again.I can’t use this marine radio on the ocean. Not sure what the heck it’s for then…

We use this to alert us to any hazardous weather conditions in the WX ALT mode while boating and have entered the codes for the area are in. The Speaker is loud and clear even when turned up to the max. Very satisfied with screen, so easy to read all the information displayed.

We used it a bit over summer to comm between shore and boat as while launching. Seems to work fine
