Perfect! A no-brainer installation
My 18 year old Hunter controller finally bit the dust. I purchased this unit to replace the faulty one. I barely know the difference between a screwdriver and a pipe wrench. What a surprise! I removed and replaced the old worn out controller in less than 15 minutes. If you can figure out how to loosen 8 screws and tighten 8 screws, you can install this unit yourself. Programming took less that 5 minutes for the three zones I use. Buy it...you'll like it. (Confession: I did watch a You tube video before installing.)

Reliable sprinkler
Old Sprinkler went bad so we got this good replacement. Works well. Pretty easy to install. Very affordable too.

Great replacement.
The original controller had to be replaced because the dial was not working properly. This is basically the same as my original. Switching them out was very easy. The new one works great.

Good, basic 4-zone controller
I bought this to replace the same model that got fried by lightning. Installation was simple. The only thing I don't like about it is that to run the system manually, you can only run one zone at a time. There isn't a way to manually run all zones in succession. In other words, you run Zone 1, wait for it to finish and then go back to the unit and start Zone 2, wait for it to finish and then go back to the unit and run Zone 3, etc. In my old house there was a "manual - all stations" capability, where you would kick it off and it would run through the entire cycle, all zones, without further handling.

Good so far
My previous outdoor Hunter controller failed after 6 or 7 years. This one works fine and is basically the same.

Good Stuff
The reason I bought this sprinkler controller is that I saw this at my friend's house & it looks easy to install & appear reliable. I have been wanting to replace mine for years but not sure if I could install it correctly. But this one did not disappoint me - it's easy to install & it has a back-up battery to maintain the settings. Indeed, I'm not hesitant to recommend this to anyone. After 4 months: I have an issue and that is when my house electricity goes out the clock time keeps blinking until I push a setting button. It has a 4-month backup battery that should maintain the clock. I cannot tell if the time is off because my electricity has not gone out longer than a minute. I checked my settings and they remain the same. I wrote to the company but I have not received a reply yet. I will try to test by unplugging the adapter. So stay tune.As a followup. I emailed the company support and got back this quick respond: "A flashing display (time of day) on the Hunter Controllers is an indication that the power had gone out and has been restored. The display will continue to flash until the dial is moved to another position and then returned to the RUN or AUTOMATIC position. The programs will run as normal even though the display is flashing." Again, it's a good stuff.
