This L-tryptophan is a great natural supplement to help those who have a problem going to sleep. It's easy to take and very helpful with inducing sleep. The product arrived promptly, and was well packaged. Now is a great brand, and I would buy it again...

I was surprised by the suggested directions to take up to 3 tablets a day. Each tablet is 1,000 mg. At first I tried only 1 tab as I have never taken l-tryptophan in my life. This seemed to level out my mood with no "drugged" sensations. It's been close to a month now and I take 1 tab in the morning and 2 tabs mid-afternoon. I tried to use them for sleep but they did not help me get to sleep. I trust NOW supplements and that probably was an issue in trying this.

This has been truly miraculous for vascular dementia due a stroke. I originally gave it in an effort to turn his circadian rhythm’s around but his feet hit the ground two days later with his eyes wide open, much unlike before. Not in the field but perhaps he had a serotonin deficiency. Idk. No ones I’ve share this information in the medical field had ever even heard of it for the most part, and zi (R) been dismissed as “well it isn’t a pharmaceutical therefore it can’t be working”. Please at least try it if your loved one is suffering for dementia. It may just be a fit!

Helps me sleep and cuts back on nightmares. I do highly recommend.

UPDATE: Not a long lasting effect for me, even at higher doses. Adjusted from 5 stars to 3. Diphenhydramine is now my go to sleep aid. And nobody told me trazodone takes like 4 weeks to work, so I’m going to try it again too.OriginalI tried Now L-Tryptophan 500mg 6x a day instead of trazodone and was sleeping better within a few days. I have depression and a very stressful job. But I was too sleepy when I woke up. So I tried Source Naturals with B6–it did not do squat for me at any dose. I’m back to NOW and I went with 1,000mg in the am and pm. Back to sleeping through the night vs waking multiple times. And I feel awake on waking. Right product, right brand, right dose, for me. SO happy and grateful.

It has helped me sleep with ease at night.
