My wife loved this so much that she ordered a second box. We have these sitting on the tops of matching bookshelves on opposite sides of our French bedroom doors (and a floral arrangement next to them). They look great, and seem sturdily made of good product. That being said, I know that they open, but we haven't used these as a "functional" box - only for a decoration, so I can't speak to how well the hinges hold up or anything like that. They are a pretty box for an accent in our home.

I read numerous reviews many mentioned the lid sticking but they were going to keep it because it is a handmade piece of artwork. I was pleasantly shocked that the lid on my box works perfectly no sticking. It ended up being larger than the way I had it pictured. It holds everything I needed it to hold and because the lid is domed it could hold numerous items without a problem. I would make this purchase again as I believe it is a good value and lovely product.

I love this beautiful box! It’s well made and fits perfectly on my dresser. I use it to store my EDC (every day carry): wallet, work badge, Victorinox, keys, Burt’s Bees, etc at the end of each day. It keeps my dresser organized. Some folks have mentioned that it is hard to open and it is a little but it’s not bad. I think it will loosen up over time.

This was one of the few boxes I could find that appeared hand-made with carved elephants. It is to be a gift for my daughter. I am happy with the size (I purchased the larger- 9 inch box), big enough for keepsakes inside. I searched quite a bit to find the size and design I was hoping for, so, when I saw this, I was anxious to get it. I'll give two sides to my rating to explain why it wasn't a total 5 star rating. One view: It was very beautiful wood. It did come well packed and undamaged, and it did arrive fairly quickly to my home. Second view: The lid did not fit very well at all. It had a huge gap on one side of the box because the lid was somewhat warped and did not close properly. Though the carvings were probably hand-made, it was obvious that it was also mass-produced and the artist made several cuts in a hurry. This resulted in some distorted details of the elephants and some excessively deep cuts surrounding the picture which distracted from the beauty of the overall appearance and staining quality of the box. I am very experienced with woodworking and can not pass this as just "character". I know when I see hurried work. I'm glad that I have the skills to dosome minor chiseling and re-fit the lid to make this into the artwork that I want to present to my daughter. The original craftsmen do have artistic talent and I hope they will see the importance of taking an extra couple of minutes to let that talent reflect true quality to their market. For thereasonable price of purchase, I will recommend this product.still recommend this box as a nice gift.

Larger than expected, hiding all my end table junk I keep handy. The wood & carving is beautiful. Lid opens & closes smoothly. Just a really nice piece…I’m very pleased.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter who is graduating next week. The carving is so beautiful, and the 9"x6" size is perfect, not too big, not too small. It's the perfect stash box for keeping prom tix and other important memories. I was given a similar box when I graduated, which I still have, so I'm carrying on the tradition. I know she'll love it. Especially the elephants w/their trunks up, for good luck.

I like it - decent amount of room. The design is just ok, nothing exceptional, but it's tough to open - maybe that's a good thing in case it falls on the floor it won't open? But I'd rather have one that opens more easily.

I loved this box that I planned to use as a gift for my sister so much that I bought another one to keep. My sister loved it as a gift too!
