Hi, is this vinegar distilled?

This vinegar is not distilled as the label is not printed 'distilled white vinegar'. I purchased this vinegar for cleaning purposes and have tried it with cooking. I prefer distilled white vinegar for food as it isn't so harsh and it is bit more flavourful . You can also clean with distilled white vinegar but is a bit more expensive. I have googled it and some sites say that both white vinegar and distilled white vinegar are the same but they are not. White vinegar is made from fermented sugar and is not distilled (purified) but still has the sourness and acidity as do most vinegars. Distilled vinegar is made by fruit ( different types) which ferment and then the liquid is distilled ( separated from the base substances). So if you want some just for cleaning, this does the job and the supply is generous to making up your own cleaning formulae. Not too nice to eat though! Good luck!

Does this come a 4 x 5lt (ie 20 litres in total) or just 1 x 5lt - it is not clear!

Yes, 4 bottles of each 5ltrs. 20ltrs in total. Fantastic value, use a cup in each of my wash loads. Great for cleaning - brilliant value and you don't have to lug it home from the shops!

Is the bottle recyclable?

I would - symbol 2 in recyclable "triangle" ie HDPE

Has anyone used this on a tommee tippee night and day prep machine? what were results like? smells afterwards?

If you are worried about the smell of vinegar. White vinegar is not like the strong smell of malt. White vinegar rinses away easier. But to take away any smell,add the juice of half a fresh lemon to the vinegar. You can also lemon juice concentrate,it comes in small 250ml bottles. Lemon juice is also a good cleaning item.
