Can you use tap water? My water is quite chalky.

I never use tap water because it creates limescale in my appliances. I always buy a 5 litre bottle of distilled water from Halfords, it's cheaper than buying ironing water from the supermarket.

Does it have a uk plug?

Yes. Also a usefully long lead. It does however lack the little clip to tidy the lead.

The second time i used the iron the electric power went down. the iron did not work after. i asked for a replacement. how can i prevent this fro

I havent had this problem with mine, perhaps make sure the correct fuse is being used
