I would not use this for pickles because the taste is cinnamon, clove and allspice are overpowering. I ended up picking those out (took forever), but should be okay for pickles now. Didn't pay close enough attention to everything that was in it and that's my fault. All in all it's a good quality spice.

Badia makes great spices for a great price. This is my first time purchasing pickling spice from them but have bought a numer of things from them over the years and have loved each one. The spices arrived and are actually larger pieces than ones in smaller containers which is great for me. My new venture is trying to make corned beef and this is perfect. It will also work well in the pickles I do. The smell when you open the container is heavenly if you love spices as I do. Definitely fresh and ready to create great flavor.

Good combination of pickling spices that are fresh and aromatic. I actually use a mortar and pestle and crush the spices before adding them. Once they pickle, they soften and you can eat the spice with your pickled veggies. Even the cinnamon sticks ... they are very soft and provide a burst of cinnamon when you bite into a piece. If you don't want to eat the spices (and beware that they contain bay leaves), you can use a tea bag and place them in the pickle jar and remove it after pickling. The pickling process greatly increases the intensity of the spices, so you don't need to use a lot of spice for the pickling process.

Depends on your taste and your recipe, but this has most of the required ingredients at a good price with fast, dependable Amazon shipping.
