Sofft Artist Tools by Golden, Starter Set, Pack of 8, Professional Artist Pastels

Really enjoy using these wonderful tools to create works of art in pan pastels. I like that they’re washable and can be reused over and over.

Does what it should.

I live to use these Sofft sponge tools with pan pastels. They allow the powder to go on smoothly and easily blend the colors. The many different shapes allow me to put color down in lines, blocks or blurs. I have not had to replace the ends very often, as they hold up well on Pastel mat. I would recommend them highly.

They work well but don't last very long on actual sanded pastel paper.

Use these for figure drawing. Beautiful mark making - wonderful for building up subtle shadows. Its easy to collect lots of pigment on the sponge, but even if theres not a lot on there anymore (ie, its used and the heavy pigment has run out), you can still create really sheer shadows. Very nice.

Helpful to blend. Not necessary to have but if you can buy it, it will make your life easier.

I found I wanted many of these so I didn’t have to keep washing them.

Haven’t used properly yesterday but does the job.
