Would you say these are a more "firm" or "soft" (down-ish type) pillow?

I bought these for my son in 2020. It’s 2.5 yrs later & he still loves them. His are very full, almost firm - yet soft and they have some weight when you pick them up. I finally bought my own pillows, which arrived today. Not even CLOSE comparison. They’re not the same pilllow. The new ones are flat, lightweight, no springy loft, not full. Disappointing is to put it mildly.

Do these pillows work for side sleepers? Support shoulders?

Your shoulders shouldn't be on your pillows. Perhaps that's why some of these reviewers are having shoulder pain...but the pillow can't force people to have good posture or compensate for a bad mattress. I sleep on my side or stomach, and these work great for me. I have 12 of them, and rotate them through the washer/dryer often, and they stay full and do not flatten out like a lot of other pillows.

Are they still covered in mold like the reviewers from June expierenced?

Bought one set in June 2021, and two more sets in July 2021. All three sets were mold free, and have remained so. Many compliments from guests. I also brought one with me for an extended trip to family, and my nieces all wanted to sleep on the “magic” pillow.

Are these machine washable?

Yes. I’ve been searching forever for a pillow that is machine washable and didn’t get lumpy afterwards. However, because of the stuffing the pillow holds a lot of the moisture in and doesn’t dry quickly. It’s just the nature of down and down alternative in my experience. I had the same issues others have mention with it being too heavy in the washer when wet. I’d just plan on being patient and then wash 2 together to balance the weight and air dry.
