Plastic surgeon recomended this as a tool to place over wounds for better healing- It's been around a very long time. Safe. Do your homework. I- we use for healing (surgery-scars) and burns... Consider. An excellent way to protect lips too!

I was recommended by my Dermatologist to use the Vaseline on a pressure wound, after I had used an expensive cream by my doctor for a few years. Doctor finally had me see the Dermatologist. The wound is almost gone in a few months. I also suffer from Edema in which I wear special wraps on my feet and legs. The skin on my feet where so dry it was horrible. Dermatologist said use the Vaseline. Which I did and my feet are very soft now something the expensive creams I had purchased did not accomplish. Plus the Dermatologist said she used a tiny bit every night on her neck and chest so I did to and it really helped that old lady look ;-).
