If you're looking for a heavy wool outer layer, this is an excellent choice.
Good points: Comfortable, Roomy, Collar.Interesting: Long sleeves.I was surprised by the softness, given its heavy weight (400). Just slip a nice base layer underneath, and it's very comfortable. You have some room for other clothes, but it isn't too drafty if all you have is a thin undershirt base layer. On the flip side, if I push it a bit I can wear a 150 T-shirt and 400 heavyweight crew-neck underneath.Better still, if you unzip this 400 g/m2 sweater then the half-zip the collar actually stays put as a collar - instead of flipping up like so many other half-zips. Meriwool, you have no idea how much I appreciate that.Be aware. The sleeves will be long. My arms are often an inch or 2 long for standard shirt sleeves, but even the Medium left plenty of extra sleeve. I just roll them up, and if it gets cold enough I can use them as impromptu hand coverings. If you have really long arms, you'll absolutely love this item.

Beautiful craftsmanship, terrible fit
I'm 5'11" and 165 lbs, somewhat athletically built. This sweater fit me like a gunny sack. The arms were way too long, and there was an impressive amount of slop in the body and arms. In contrast, Meriwool's 320 gm zip sweater was nearly skintight. Seriously... how about splitting the difference?

I LOVE Meriwool!
I love this half zip and just about everything from Meriwool. I live in Minneapolis where it’s bitter cold. I toss the half zip over their 250g base layer when it’s 20 degrees out and cold no more!Seems durable. I hand wash it with Eucalan wool wash.As another reviewer mentioned, the collar folds down when zipped down. I prefer this as it gives this a more relaxed fit.Pros:- I’m close to 5’10”, 170lbs. Fits as expected (purchased a Medium). It’s not skin tight so you can wear this on it’s own or over a shirt (which was my intention). Some can argue it’s a bit long, like many of Meriwool’s clothing, as it hangs about 6” below my waist....but I like the length.- Warm. I’ve only experienced this zip in the winter so it’s perfect over a base layer when it’s 20 degrees out :). When it’s 40 degrees, it’s great on its own.Cons:- The only minor gripe I have is that it “pills” up and collects fibers (or dog hair). This doesn’t bother me much but if you wear it a bunch before a wash, which I do, then you may need to take a lint brush to it on occasion.Overall, love it!

Size two sizes down
Quality is good. I am usually XL in everything but I had to size down to medium. Base layers should be close to skin not very loose. The XL was like wearing size 4X. The medium neck coverage is still slightly loose but I will keep it. I tried their new 320 weight and I couldn’t put on XL because it was too tight and it does not come in XXL. Who designs their clothing size? Use American size for Americans! I will stick to other brands since they get my size right. The two star is for poor sizing not the quality.

Not bad
I do like the shirts But do not have delicate skin so not sure I needed to spend the extra money for merino wool to keep me warm. I was looking for a more heavy weight sweater that was nice and warm. this is the expedition weight and seems to keep me pretty warm. Sleeves are long but I just roll them up.. only have had the shirts a short time though.. so we will see.. the high price is the biggest complaint.. like the hidden zipper at the top.. nice feature.

Excellent product
Great fit and quality. A fraction of the cost at the same quality of some major box brands. I'm able to use this as a active layer while hiking and also as a mid layer while sitting around basecamp. great warmth and feel.

Medium size turned out really big
Although the product was marked 'Medium' sized, it was too large in actual dimensions. In comparison, another product - mid weight base layer Medium size was a perfect fit.

Great Wool Piece
Size down. This runs big. Very similar to an Ibex Shak- but it is softer and less expensive. I am very happy with this.

Excellent for big necks
Body and arm fits much more comfortably than the 320g weight shirt from Meriwool, however the neck opening is gapingly large. Zipped all the way up the collar stands erect around my head almost in front my chin, I felt like Auron from Final Fantasy X.
