A good step up from a beginner bamboo Dizi
I had gotten a cheaper beginner Dizi and was looking for a good step up. This definitely did it for me. It comes with everything you would need plus some extras I didn't think I would need. Here are my main points about it: 1. The flute itself is really well made. It's heavier and feels a lot more solid and durable than my beginner bamboo Dizi. Also, it is much less prone to cracking than the bamboo one (which mine did due to extreme temperature changes...nothing baking soda and crazy glue can't fix though). 2. I love the warmer timbre of this flute versus the more nasal sound that my bamboo one had. It's much more pleasant for others to listen to and in my opinion can be more widely used in a variety of musical situations. Plus, I feel like I have more options in controlling how mellow or bright the sound can be just by the way I play. The intonation on mine was pretty good to. 3. The case is really well built and has enough room to fit some extras (I added miniature scissors so as to always be able to cut membrane pieces). It is a two sectioned case but your flute won't take the entire space of it. It feels like a wood construction with velvet inner lining and a neatly wrapped pleather exterior. Mine is black and has what appears to be a gold-colored die cast latch and handle. It has a good presence and can even be placed out in the open as a decorative piece. 4. It has the essentials: Several three packs of the membranes and one glue (just add water to it). It also carries a membrane protector which I've never used before but now that I have, I wonder why I never did. It helps protect the membrane during storage and transport. This way you don't run the risk of knocking the membrane out of place prematurely. Also, there is a cool tassel to add some character. 5. The only semi-downside is the little intro pamphlet they include. The pamphlet is useful for those who have not used a Dizi before in that it has good real pictures explaining how to place the membrane, and it has a good section explaining basic maintenance. However, the fingering chart is not very clear especially to those from a western music tradition. So, I'd recommend printing out a separate fingering chart for a 6-hole Dizi and sticking it in there, too, as reference. *NOTE = One thing to clarify as I noted some confusion about proper tuning keys in other reviews. The tuning of the Dizi is found after covering the top three holes. So, my flute is in D...so I hit the D note when covering the top three holes. The same thing with my other C Dizi which plays a "C" after covering the top three holes. This can be confusing to many of us who have played western flutes in C where the "C" can be found after more or less covering all the holes. Be sure to print out a 6-hole Dizi fingering chart once you get this instrument.

Quality instrument
The instrument is well made, with a smooth and attractive finish. It’s easy to play and perfectly suitable for general use, even though it isn’t professional grade. The standout feature is the customer service, which is exceptionally fast and efficient at resolving any issues. Overall, I’m very pleased with it.

Happy with the quality
The dizi (bamboo flute) came inside a very nice padded case. The case is shrink wrapped as well. Inside the case, it has a red velvet bag for the dizi. It is long enough to cover the full assembled length of the dizi. The dizi came in 2 parts. The connection is tight but still not too hard to connect and disconnect. There is also a red tassel for you to hang at the end for decoration. It also came with a packet of membrane and glue for you to cover the 2nd hole. It is a little tricky to glue it. The first time I did, the membrane came off after it was dried. I applied more glue and water to glue it back. It seems to be sticking now. Some advices I found online suggest beginners to use scotch tape, which is much easier although the sound produced maybe a bit different. I don't have scotch tape so I had to do it the hard way.... There is also a finger chart included for you to learn how to play. I have never played before. I watched some YouTube videos and was able to figure out how to make a sound in less than an hour. It is a bit tricky. It seems I have to blow the air a little differently for each note to make a sound. It'll take awhile to figure out.... The dizi looks beautiful and without cracks. It produces a decent sound. For a beginner who have never played dizi, this fits my budget and I'm happy with the quality.

Beautiful flute, gorgeous sound, amazing value!
I bought a C Key Dizi, never having played any kind of flute before. I can already play almost two octaves on it, and it sounds phenomenal. I liked it so much I decided to pick up a second Dizi, and tried a NicoShine F key for a just a few dollars less from a different seller: it arrived broken, mismatched and disconnected ferrules, with a head that was unplayable. This flute, on the other hand, is a real live musical instrument, but would be worth the money just as a display piece. Phenomenal, mellow sound from the C, easy to play and establish embouchure with. I can't overstate how much I adore this flute, and seeing the alternatives in this price-range, I can't recommend them enough. After I received my purchase, the seller even reached out to see how I was enjoying it, and made sure I was happy with it! I returned the broken F Nicoshine, and ordered a second flute (D Key with the Bitter Bamboo Finish) from Physcool, which will be here tomorrow. Bottom Line: This is a marvelous Dizi, excellent for beginners, unbelievable value. The Dimo was super easy to apply, it sounds great, and it's been super easy to learn. (If your hands are on the smaller side or your fingers are on the thin side, you might consider a slightly smaller Dizi than C, as it may be difficult for you to reach or completely cover all the tone holes.)

I loved it at first sight when it arrived. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to find the right hold and I was able to play it right after the membrane was in place. The tones are clear and beautiful. I made a new tassel for it out of my favourite thread. (to make it my own) It was great that there is a protective travel case for it, makes it all the more convenient to take along everywhere.
