The leather used feels rich and is stained a deep brown hue. The paper itself feels great and is lovely to mark on. I purchased one for a friend and she was taken back by how luxurious it looked and felt, she did not know how much I spent on it neither could she care it felt like as million bucks. The binding around the edges is tough and adds tons of character to this book. A true writer's pleasure. The only downfalls of this book are the embossed logo which I wish was smaller and better hidden, it is hard to tell in the pictures but very visible in hand. The other fault is the cord used to bind the book across the center, I believe it was a nylon stretchy material that did not feel congruent with the build quality throughout, I wish they would have included a nice small leather strap - nothing fancy just equal to the rest of the journal. A great value and even better writing experience.

If you read the other reviews you will find some common themes; the leather is barely of average quality, the paper is very cool and antique looking and the binding string is equal to a cheap dress shoe shoe-string. For the price it has great character and is worth the value. If you are looking for something with a thick, heavy and high-quality leather – this is not it. I’m using it to document hunting and fishing trips that I’ve gone on with my young son so that I can give it to him one day. I’ve had it for a couple of months and it’s already taking a beating in my backpack but holding up well.

While I love the size and cover of this journal, I was not expecting the pages to be the way they are. I have to be very careful in what pens I use to write with, since most will bleed through the paper in an instant. Pencils typically don't work well either, as the sharp led will rip the soft pages. I have an expensive calligraphy pen I was hoping to use in this journal, but they pages just will not hold up to the ink and tip like I was expecting. I've found myself looking to buy a different journal from another company. These pages are too soft and thin to be functional.

I bought this for my daughter to take to college to journal with over the coming years. It's a pretty nice, somewhat rustic journal. I don't believe it was lined which isn't a concern for this application. It's held together well and turned out to be a nice & unique gift for my daughter as she entered a new chapter of her life.

I received mine today after having used a lined Cavellini Toscana this past year. I make an entry at least once per day and I use fountain pens for writing so I wanted a truly unique journal. The paper is hand pressed, feels wonderful, looks wonderful and is a pleasure to use. The only downside is that heavy pens will saturate and bleed fairly quickly, so speed and cleanliness of penmanship is a must. This is a great buy even if you just want to write something!**If you're looking for something practical for daily note taking, this will not work well for you. It does not fit in the pocket, and is well over an inch thick.

This was a gift for my sister and she really liked it, specifically the handmade paper. The leather was not great quality, and was kind of thin. The closing mechanism is a simple string the wraps around the journal 2 or 3 times, and is just tucked under itself. Not especially convenient closing method, but it works. Not bad for the price, but may not hold up well to heavy wear and tear such as daily use.

This is a very nice product that my fiancee absolutely loved when I gave it to her. The only complaint I had about it was the quality of the leather - it feels very stiff. I imagine with time it will soften up a bit, so that's not a huge deal. Everything else about the journal I love. The paper is incredible, the product looks amazing and it smells very good as well. Overall I was very pleased with this journal, especially for the price.

Tolles Material, Ledereinband, toller Geruch, das Papier wie aus dem 18 Jahrhundert handgeschöpft.Es fühlt sich grandios an und sieht klasse aus. Bin mal gespannt, was er meint, wenn wir es ihm bald übergeben. Aber er wird mit Sicherheit begeistert sein.Was einige bemängelt haben, ja, das Papier ist denke ich für Tinte ungeeignet.Wir benutzen Gelstifte in einer stärkeren Dicke. Damit klappt das Beschreiben optimal.Auf jeden Fall ein tolles Produkt, das sicher noch einige von uns für andere Zwecke kaufen werden.

Der Ledereinband ist sehr gut verarbeitet, die handgearbeiten Details am Rand sind einfach Traumhaft. Es ist trotz allem kompakt und sehr robust....ich könnte mir gut vorstellen, dass noch meine Ururenkel daraus meine Geschichten lesen.Das Buch fühlt sich sehr gut an in der Hand. Wenn man über die Seiten, der handgeschöpften Blätter, streicht kann man die Blütenblätter spüren. Diese sind ein netter Farbtupfer und versprühen einen Hauch Natur.Wer gerne schreibt und altertümliche, rustikale Dinge mag, ist bei diesem Buch absolut richtig. Und spätestens wenn ihr es gerochen habt, seid ihr einfach hin und weg- ich liebe den Duft von alten Büchern und Leder.

Dieses Buch hatte ich für einen bestimmten Anlass gekauft, ich wollte es zum Festhalten von Phrasen, Erinnerungen und lustigen Anekdoten von den Treffen unserer Gruppe haben (wir sind Mittelalterfans).Mit dem Buch habe ich gleich für Aufsehen gesorgt. Es ist sehr wertig gearbeitet und der leichte Ledergeruch fliegt einem kurz angenehm in die Nase und unterstreicht das Gefühl kein "Billigprodukt" in der Hand zu halten. Wenn man das Buch öffnet fällt das wunderschöne Papier auf. Es ist nicht labberig oder durchscheinend, sondern von guter Qualität.Keiner hätte angenommen, dass dieses Buch so günstig war.Auf jeden Fall ein Hingucker.

Erst einmal ein dickes Lob an den Hersteller. Selten eine so gute Verarbeitung gesehen. Der Preis ist meines Erachtens voll gerechtfertigt. In vorherigen Rezezionen konnte man entnehmen, dass ein Beschreiben der hochwertigen Seiten mit einem Füllfederhalter nicht zu empfehlen sei, da die Seiten zuviel Tinte aufsaugen. Diesem stimme ich zu. Ich empfehle zum Beschreiben ein Gelkugelschreiber. Ich werde mir von diesem Hersteller noch mehr Produkte bestellen. Weiter so....

Als war als Geschenk gedacht und ich hätte es am liebsten behalten. Es hat eine schöne Größe und die Beschreibung ist zu 100 % getroffen. Die Verarbeitung des Leders ist super und das handgeschöpfte Papier ist einfach die Wucht. Natürlich wird es schwer mit Füller zu schreiben, ich kann mir vorstellen dass da das ein oder andere Wort verschwimmt aber egal. Es kam auch als Geschenk super an.Wer ein schönes in Leder gebundenes Notizbuch benötigt sollte dieses Kaufen. Der Versand ging super schnell.
