Life-Like Trains N Scale Building Kit - Downtown Hotel

I see many people complain about the assembly of these plastic models, clearly they have no idea of what is required when it was purchased. All models require some work and fitting of parts. Additional paint is optional but essential for a realistic look. It is part of the fun working the parts and building the finished product. It also demands that you develop the skills to make them. These skills are not included with the model and are developed over time and practice. Start small and work your way up. So much information is available on the internet to teach these skills and techniques for an impressive finished result. Take your time and enjoy the adventure. These skills will come in handy during a lifetime as they can be applied to real life projects... j

I've had my frustrations with kits, but this one was pretty easy to put together.

Great product

The quality is good and well detailed. All pieces fit perfectly. Easy to detail and paint. Only problem was the decal. Would not release from backing. Would like manufacturer to provide a new one.

I'm very happy with this hotel for my N scale layout. It really looks nice and assembly was straightforward with no major problems. There aren't that many downtown hotels for N scale and you can't beat this one for the money. It is very detailed for N scale and doesn't look toy like.

The model parts “snap” into place well for easy gluing and are molded in three colors: brown, gray and white. You could get away with not painting, but will be disappointed with the toy plastic look and lack of detail. I paint all of my models and I also like to add LED lights in my buildings, so I had to use plastic putty along the base of the exterior walls to avoid light leakage. In the end, the building is a nice addition to my layout, but this brand of models doesn’t stand up to the detail and quality of others, such as Walthers and Woodland Scenics.

This is a nice little store and everything went well except I can't put together kits any more. With some macular degeneration causing me not to have depth perception and shaky hands, it is too hard to get everything together perfectly. It is acceptable, but I will have tofind already assembled structures in the future.
