Are these soft enough to slip a pill into them?

Maybe if you poked a hole where you were going to put the pill in. They aren't rock hard, but they aren't real soft. My horse loves them tho....& they are keeping her stomach in good shape.

Do they contain the same active ingredients as the powder? My horse loves them but my vet turned her nose up at them because they're treats

This is probably a question for the company. Or, you can pull up the powder and read ingredients and then compare to the list on the chews. I will tell you that I started using the chews over a year ago and my horses weight did increase. They were thin and my shoer suggested they weren't "using" their food completely. I fed them more and more but they were not gaining. Once I started the chews, they began to gain weight and I've even been able to cut back on the food and they hold their weight. If the expense isn't an issue, at the very least they are a nice treat but they may also be helpful. I only give mine 1 chew per day. Hope this helps some.

How many chews per bag? How long does 1 bag last when feeding 2 chews per day?

The bag says about 70 treats. So if you give 2 about 35 days.

How big and soft are these chews? We have a mini and are concerned she won't be able to eat these.

They are small, but not mini small. Should be just fine for a mini because they are very soft. I just crumble them up with my thumb and forefinger and add them to my dog's food. They have no problem with the taste. And they work great!
