This is a quality parkerized steel reproduction scope mount base. The scope base is threaded for M1D rings only. It will require fitting to standard contour M1 Garand barrels. Note: Some of them are in new condition and some are used. However, due to our vast inventory we cannot sort and pick specific condition of parts.

The diameter of the sleeve on the mounting bracket is smaller than the barrell of my M1D Garand and will not fit. The barrell would literally need to be milled to a smaller circumference for it to fit. Maybe because this part is a reproduction thats why its off, not sure. The quality of the metal is very nice and it looks all correct except the size is wrong.

I have used several of these
After turning the OD of the breech end of the barrel to the proper OD to accept the mount. I warmed the part up with a torch and cooled the barrel... It then slipped on with no difficulty into the pre-marked position where after the temps normalized...I drilled and pinned it.
