I love this set of colored pencils. They are expensive but definitely worth it. They are like professional colored pencils. This is my second set of 150. The first set lasted me over three years. I’m very careful with them. The colors are so vibrant and the pencils are soft and smooth. Very easy to color with them. The 150 set has every color you may ever need. I’ve had the 48 set also but just wanted to be able to choose any color and got the big set. I like the box it comes in. It has a magnetic closure for security. The pencils are in trays inside and arranged by color family. They trays are easily removable. It keeps the pencils organized. You will be very happy with this set or any set of Prismacolor pencils.

I felt like the angels were going to start singing when I opened the box. These pencils are so pretty just to look at and they look even better on paper. I like to draw and color and I like to own items of good quality. These pencils definitely are. It's just a mind job that there are SO MANY of them. I've only ever owned smaller sets of colored pencils. With these I feel like the possibilities are endless. I bought a booklet to store them in and catalogued what each color looked like on paper. I will say what the pencil shows is not always what color will show up on paper so be wary of that. I'm amazed how many different shades of green there are. Cataloguing took a bit to do but it is nice to have a reference. What I will say to be wary of, other than actual color, is the actual color in the wood is a bit fragile and can break off pretty easily during sharpening, so don't overdo it. It doesn't take much. I've only had that happen twice but it happened back-to-back and was frustrating. You'll go through pencils much faster that way and this set was expensive. Overall though, I'm happy with my purchase.

Love my colored pencils! I bought the 150 Prismacolor to replace my well-used vintage Faber-Castell Spectracolor set. Over the years I tried a few different pencil brands. Most of them were too hard & dry and didn't lay down smooth dense creamy color like my Spectracolors did. I knew Prismacolors were also top-of-the-line, but I balked at the price for a long time before finally realizing if I wanted good colored pencils I'd have to take the plunge. Once I got them I was glad I did. The pencils sit in six plastic trays, within a very sturdy cardboard box with a magnetic flap closure. Time will tell how long the plastic trays last, although I expect the box to hold up well. It is a nice luxiurious presentation, although it is not very portable. For portability I ordered a zippered case with elastic straps for holding the pencils. The eraser is so-so. It works well, but doesn't seem any better than the white vinyl erasers I've been using. The sharpener is great! I really like the two-size sharpening choice. The smaller hole is great for getting a fresh point without removing too much of the pencil and without making the lead too long & prone to breaking.

I have waited a long time to treat myself to this collection and I am not disappointed. Prismacolor pencils are by far the best media I have found for drawing on cloth. Having this full range of colors (so very efficiently packaged) has given me more play time in my work. The box is sturdy and convenient to use, this would be a fabulous gift for any artist who uses color pencils, or who has been wanting to learn. Can't beat this price. The small eraser and pencil sharpener are great little bonuses in this set. I have already put them to good use. The best present I have given myself in a long time.
