Mount Genie PoE Power Over Ethernet Splitter Adapter 15W Output for Voice Assistants (1-Pack)

What an amazing little gadget. I was redoing my living room, and wanted to get my Echo Show 5 off of the shelf it was on (as those shelves were going away), and knowing that you are not suppose to put their power cords in the wall due to electrical code (without very specific tubing), I opted to run a CAT5 cable to this location (which you can run in the walls) and supply POE power to it. Hooked it up to the Echo Show 5 and Viola!! IT works!

I used this to power my Alexa Echos that I mounted in the ceiling. Much easier to run Cat 5/6 cable in the attic rather than 120v AC. Works great.

This product was suggested to be used with their flush wall mount for Echo Show 5. It actually does function as described as far as splitting and converting POE to correct voltage for the Show. The problem is the device is HOT not just slightly warm. I would never want to place this device into a wall cavity with this much heat produced. Who’s to say what this heat will do to corrode this device over time.Additionally, when plugged into the back of the Echo Show it makes the Show plus connectors too deep to fit within the 3.5” wall cavity. The device comes with larger barrel connector and an adapter to reduce the plug size to fit the Show. It should come with proper plug size or a right angle plug.

Really wanted this to work. Actually really NEEDED this to work, but the plug that goes into the back of the Nest hub is just a little too large. I tried to push it in a little too firmly and started to hear some cracking noises. When I compared the one that came with the Nest Hub, I could see that the diameter was just a hair smaller. Maybe I could find a different adapter or simply solder on a new end that fits. I'm sure the voltage and amperage are ok, but it doesn't fit out of the box.

Used this for my Wyze Cam V2. Worked great! Ran CAT6 to the spot and then this for power to the cam.

Very nice idea, I order 5 items, can help with a lot of POEs devices, if it doesn’t fit your device just get adapter and make it work, I really like it.However! The device get really HOT! Like really super Hot, & I won’t trust leaving it inside the walls, attic, or where can cause fire.Overall I’m planing to using all the devices but not inside the walls..

Great little device that allows me to utilize PoE to power my Echo Show 5 and thus not violate any electric codes when running it behind my drywall.It's the perfect teammate for the Mount Genie Show 5 wall mount.Price seems just a little steep however I've bought a few other brands that offer the same thing for half the price and yet hear I am if that tells you anything.Pay for the quality. Buy with confidence.

Your Product is perfect if you using it on a Amazon Dot, not so much on the Google Mini, it short circuits and bricks the Mini cause it to never work again energize or come on or power up but I really believe it's a Problem with the Google Mini Power system they use an outdated Usb Micro B that is week powering anyway it's the worst thing to use on a product like that sure we've used them on phones, tablets etc for years but it definitely not a good to use on a speaker styled device like the Mini I'll rate you 4 Stars on this and give the Mini Zero in that it causes an issue but I'll give you 5 stars on your Amazon Echo in Wall Mount because the mount is perfect and and Easy install and using your Poe Splitter with it works perfectly so I'll have to figure something out

While it works as advertised this has been quite frustrating to use. The barrel connector is too deep to allow for installation in most walls, thankfully the mount came with an extension lead.The PoE adapter itself also runs incredibly hot, to the extent that heat can be felt through the wall it is mounted in.

The 2nd generation connector doesn’t into the nest hole....

Good idea but power input plug is to large for the nest mini power input It dont fit. Rubbish
