Acme Made Smart Laptop Sleeve NB (Black Chevron) 10 Inches

Really sturdy, no more bulkier than the standard neoprene ones, but this definitely has added protection. Plus I love the style. It comes with an arm strap (which I don't use because I carry my laptop around in a backpack). I would recommend this to anyone - wonderful product!

This laptop sleeve from Acme has some real positives going for it. It is stylish and relatively well made for the price class. Depending on your use, however, you may find some of the missing features irrittating.Pros:* Good looking, masculine design.* Well padded* Light in weight.* Decent zippers.* The two sides are not identical so you can tell which side is up relative to the way you put your laptop in the case.Cons:* No handles. You have to use the shoulder strap as a handle, which is awkward and less secure.* The shoulder strap has no pad or rubber grippy portion and thus the rough nylon strap feels nasty and doesn't stay on your shoulder well (or at least my shoulder).* The zipper can grab the inner lip on occasion, thus jamming. I hate that in a zipper. I think they made the inner lip on this case bigger so that it could help keep moisture out. Nice idea, but I'd rather have the zipper work well. It doesn't happen every time, but it has happened enough that it's an issue.So, I am going to keep on trying to use this sleeve for a bit and see how it goes. Perhaps the zipper will be better with use. I will probably upgrade the strap by adding a pad or exchanging it with the shoulder strap from my old Kensington Contour bag. Lastly, you should make sure your laptop will fit well because my 15.4" Macbook Pro is very snug in this sleeve. I think this will definitely get better, but it isn't just "good protection' tight - it's inconvenient tight, for now. In part this is likely due to the MBP's wide screen aspect ratio. It may not be an issue on squarish screened PCs.

And that is my one main complaint about it - I wish that it was just a wee bit roomier on the inside. But other than that, it is a great sleeve.The overall build quality, stitching, seams, metal D-rings and shoulder strap, and interior lining are high quality. Most laptop sleeves do not give you any storage options for carrying accessories. The padding on this sleeve is typical compared to most laptop sleeves - it will only protect from minor bumps and knocks, but there is not really sufficient padding to cushion against dropping the sleeve onto a floor. But as with most laptop sleeves, this sleeve is not meant to be carried frequently by itself through airports. If you really want good padded protection and room for carrying accessories, get a laptop case instead of a sleeve. Most laptop sleeves come with neither shoulder straps nor handles because people tend to put them inside backpacks, briefcases, and luggage instead of just carrying them around directly. But this was a nice touch to design this laptop sleeve so that you can also use it as a shoulder bag; the shoulder strap option gives this sleeve a nice flexibility that most other sleeves do not offer. Just be aware that if you frequently carry this sleeve everywhere using the shoulder strap, it will offer less protection than if your laptop was stored in a fully-padded laptop case.I also use a  Built NY E-LS17-GRN 17-Inch Laptop Sleeve (Green)  sleeve for my 17-inch laptop, and I have another 15-inch laptop sleeve, the  LA robe Club MBP15 Black/Safran . "Built NY" sleeves are far more funky with pizzazz in their wide range of available designs and color options, whereas most of the "Acme Made" sleeves have a classy subdued design that makes them look like women's purses, especially once you attach the shoulder strap onto this sleeve. Unlike most of the snazzy "Built NY" sleeve designs, the black chevrons on this sleeve give it a subdued professional look. This Acme Made sleeve is nice in that you can attach its shoulder strap and use it as a shoulder bag. But the "LA robe" sleeve is also nice because it has two outside pockets on its sleeve; for some reason, external pockets and shoulder strap D-rings are very rare on most laptop sleeve designs; the assumption is that you are carrying the sleeve in another bag or luggage and therefore you do not need other storage or carrying options.

The "Acme Made Smart Laptop Sleeve PC 15" is a simple, single-pocket sleeve designed to hold 15-inch and smaller laptops. I should qualify that and say it holds "thin" 15-inch laptops. If you've got an older 15-inch notebook PC or a laptop that is thick thanks to an extended-life battery then your laptop will NOT fit inside the Acme Made Smart Laptop Sleeve.My wife's HP Pavilion dv4t with extended life battery won't fit inside this sleeve and allow the zipper to close ... and it's a 14-inch laptop. The padding on the inside of the sleeve offers okay protection from scratches or light bumps, but like most sleeves it won't provide much protection from a drop.The Acme Sleeve only has a single main compartment for your laptop and it would have been nice if there was a second, smaller pocket on the outside for holding accessories. On a happier note, the sleeve includes two "D" rings on either side and a small shoulder strap for carrying the sleeve like a messenger-style laptop bag or a purse.The exterior has an interesting black pattern, but the material it is made out of isn't very rugged. I put the sleeve down on top of my desktop PC for one evening and when I picked the sleeve up to use it again the heat exhaust from my desktop had cooked/melted a faint grill pattern into the surface of the sleeve. My desktop doesn't get THAT hot, so the fact that a little heat was able to deform the exterior of the sleeve suggests that this sleeve isn't made of the toughest materials.Bottom line, I can't really recommend this sleeve to potential buyers. It's not the worst sleeve I've ever seen, but it certainly isn't one of the best.
