The Incubus and the Woodcutter (Yaoi) (Winter Demon) Kindle Edition

I really wanted to like this, especially for the fantasy element (which could have been played up). As a fellow writer, I really wanted to be gentle. And it was “okay” for a first timer.However, there were grammar errors and unnatural word choices. There was pretty much zero story conflict or reason for the characters to “fall in love” so quickly. They had no personality - they were basically flat cardboard cutouts that the author wanted to hook up.But, what made me REALLY roll my eyes was that the last 40% of the novella was eaten up by the author repetitively rambling in, what amounted to be, a VERY long advertisement for her other books.I think the author could really grow her writing technique if she gave this a second or third pass with a skilled editor/beta reader and asked her characters “WHY” and “what do you as a character want that’s deeper than the physical?” Give them more time to get to know each other and build a connection.Also, it’s better marketing to be far more concise when advertising, so she’d save far more back-matter and redundancy by cutting down her plugs to a sentence or two and linking the rest to a website.I hope she gives this another go with a second edition, especially if her writing style has grown...because as it is now does not speak to a seasoned writer. It’s a good idea, but execution just needs more practice.The art was really well done, at least - so, kudos to the artist.

I recognized the author name and the art. So I picked this up. I am almost positive I read this as a yaoi comic eons ago. (I'm old so I can't remember how long ago, just go with it.)I'm certain I recognized a lot of the art as well. But what I remember is a story that I really liked and that was considerably longer. I probably borrowed a set of comics with this story, as well used to pass around manga a lot back in the day because is was so hard to get ahold of and expensive when you did.While I still liked this as prose, it wasn't cleanly edited. Too many typos, and grammar mistakes. The story's end was cut a little short in my opinion as well.Maybe someone who doesn't remember this from the comic would have been happier with it, but even as I tried to be impartial as it was written, I still had issues.Though I have to say I did like how much consent was discussed and given here. It made it a happier story than it would have been otherwise.

Dear Author,Why was the ending of this story sooo abrupt? Did you remember something more important to occupy your time with than us silly readers? Why didn't you just write 'yaddy yadda yaddi- the end' that would have saved you a page.Do you know why I am disappointed , and frustrated with your style of writing? because you built me up and I was filled with longing. instead your story turned out to be rushed... whats the matter? Is my money not worth a good ending. I really feel like you deserve a hard slap right now. but like you, I won't beable to deliver because I'm in home on my computer.Don't you know that you can be a best selling author but if you disappoint your readers one time, that's it. you won't get a dime out of us?I'm wondering... when will Amazon add Zero Stars? or -Negative 5 Stars? hmmmmm?

The author promotes this as her first attempt at writing prose, and unfortunately, it showed. The story didn’t flow well and was full of grammatical errors, leaving me to wonder if anyone proofread and edited this. Figaru and Ichiro seem like they could be likeable characters but this story is over so fast there is no character development. The actual story ends at the 60% mark and the remaining 40% is made up of previews and snippets from other works by this author; none of which tempted my interest.

I don't get to read many consensual sex incubi stories, so I'm very grateful when I find one like this. The words flowed easily and at no point did I have to stop to think, "What did the author mean there?" I constantly edit other people's work so, really, I do enjoy when a story is well written like this one. Gorgeous and succinct. Well done!

A real treat for any Winter Demon fan. I'd love to see more of these for the other character's stories as well!Basically this is a snippet from the manga Winter Demon, but in prose form and with insights and backstory we never got in the original manga. We get to see the story from Figaru's point of view and to learn more about him as well.The ending is of course bittersweet if you know anything about this series, but the read itself is definitely giggle inducing. It's pure fun.

The demon was lost without love. But found in a lonely mans face. The demon was smooth Sith his entrance to the wood cutter. The wood cutter needed love, the demon showed how sweet he could be. Nice!!!

I love the simplicity and how the two characters have their own voice. Both are desperate for something and find it in each other without being pitiful. Compassion and love forms quick in this satisfyingly sweet romance! Well done!

Very enjoyable read,interesting with the mix of prose and very sexy yaoi illustrations it definitely adds to the sex scenes in the story.I already knew the character Figaru from the Incubus Master series but this short story was still very nice and sexy to read.

This new prose with yaoi illustrations is quite fun to read.I bought this after reading the Incubus series so knew who Figaru was, a fun sexy read if a little short.

É uma história de fato interessante, mas já li outros melhores. Acho que o jeito que os personagens são apresentados não permitem que você se afeições a eles. Então vale a pena se você quiser ler só pelo BL.

It make me wish it had another suite this story ,the sex part is so wildly exited that its an addictive to read id !
