The Wings of Fire saga continues with a thrilling underwater adventure - and a mystery that will change everything! Tsunami the SeaWing is overjoyed to be reunited with her fellow ocean-dwelling dragons. For the first time in her life, she actually fits in. But not everything is as perfect as it seems underwater. Tsunami and the other "dragonets of destiny" aren't any closer to ending the war for Pyrrhia...and someone in the SeaWing kingdom wants them dead before they can even try. Tsunami wants to stay with her fellow SeaWings, but can she keep her friends safe at the same time? Review: Delightfully fun! - I really enjoyed reading this. The plot twists and cliffhangers kept me reading wanting to know what was going to happen next. It's a real page turner of a read. Review: Four and a Half Stars! - I've been looking for a book about dragons. Not dragon riders, dragon slayers, or a girl who get's sent to a dragon's lair by her Aunt. I wanted a book about dragons. However, when I found this series, I didn't expect it to be any good. I was proved wrong. This book is in the point of view of Tsunami the Seawing. In a world where the dragon tribes are at war, a prophecy has been delivered. Five dragonets will come and stop the war. A SeaWing, a SandWing, a MudWing, a NightWing, and a SkyWing. They were to hatch on the brightest night, and, in their eighth year, stop the war. Tsunami has just found out that her egg, taken by the Talons of Peace, was stolen from the SeaWing royal hatchery. Her mother is Queen Coral of the SeaWings, and Tsunami is a princess. At first, it is everything Tsunami has dreamed. When she was younger, she read a scroll over and over, The Missing Princess. Well, it turns out, Queen Coral wrote that about her. For the first time in her life, Tsunami has treasure, can swim in the ocean, and actually has a mother. But it's not all perfect. Tsunami has a little sister she never knew about, who happens to be hiding something. Something big. She doesn't speak Aquatic, the underwater language of the SeaWings, as soon as they got to the palace, her friends were taken somewhere, and not to mention Queen Coral's eggs keep getting broken, which she is steaming mad and worried about. This really wasn't what Tsunami was imagining. This book was better than the first. Action-packed and exciting, this is worth reading. It's also funny in places. But you want to read the first book before reading this one, or else you won't understand some of what's going on. I like that is wasn't exactly as Tsunami had imagined it. For me, that's boring. Instead, the first SeaWing she meets tries to 'kill' her (a very funny misunderstanding), poor Clay and Sunny have to be blindfolded to even get in to the palace, she has a creepy uncle, and an utterly boring, snobbish teacher. Also, though, you should be warned; as was in the first book, there's some violence. Like in one part of the book 'The skinny green dragon was shrieking in one long, high-pitched scream. Tsunami stopped and pressed herself back against the wall, horrified. Queen Coral had already yanked out each of Tortoise's teeth one by one. They rose through the water, tiny and white, toward the roof. Now Coral had her claws stabbed in Tortoise's exposed underbelly. Clouds of blood filled the water, nearly hiding the queen and Tortoise in a red haze'. It doesn't bother me, but it might bother a younger kid. Okay, I had one problem with this book. About once a chapter, it would split a word. For example, it would do trea sure. Stuff like that. But other than that, no miss-spellings, good grammar, and I didn't notice any tense-switching. All in all, it's a good book (and series) and is worth reading.

Awesome Read
Bought the hardcover after owning the paperback for 14 years of rereading over and over again. Absolutely love this book, one of my favorites of the whole series. Written well, couldn't put the book down, and whenever I reread it I finish it quickly. Wings of fire rocks.

My Middle Grade Reader LOVES this series
Olivia's Review: Tsunami is finally going home to the kingdom of the sea. But she doesn't know what mysterious things have been happening, and Queen Coral, Tsunami's mother has had her daughters mysteriously destroyed in their eggs. Tsunami is determined to save the last surviving egg and discovers secrets even her mother didn't know of. I like the mysteries, they are very strange and can be a bit spooky at times, but also a story filled with magic and fun. I can't wait for the next book, I just finished Escaping Peril. I really want a book about Kinkajou. I think that this book is a bit scary and readers should be prepared. Also, beware of enchanted statues. Bah Bah Buuuuumm! Mom Says: Really after she leaves you with a Bah Bah Buuuuumm I am not sure what else I can say, haha. A few things...the world building for The Kingdom of The Sea is fantastic. Anytime a young reader can fully visualize the world they are reading about and get excited about it you know you have a winner. One of my favorite things about this series in fact is it's ease at pulling in reluctant readers and turning them into book-a-holics. I like that in this series each book gives us the point of view of a different Dragonet, but continues with the main original characters each fighting their own battles and working together to discover their world and find their way. As with the first book there are some moments that may be more difficult for sensitive readers, particularly one moment that involves Tsunami's father. There are not too many scary moments so don't let that keep you from getting this book, but you might have a moment where your reader needs to talk to you about what is happening. Of course if they are anything like my MG reader, they will want to talk your ear off about all these books regardless of any scary moments, these are books I find that readers just HAVE to share! This is a great book for Middle Grade readers, particularly reluctant readers. The books are both fun, with sarcastic and witty characters, they are balanced with poignant moments and battles. I do recommend that they be read in order, you will be missing out on important facts by reading them out of order. A great addition to any teachers classroom library!

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK SERIES I HAVE EVER READ !!!!!!
I realy REALY recommend this book series i am a 10 year old grill and i got so cot up in this series that i just finished the 13th book (and now i'm sad because i'm gonna have to wait 1 year for the 14th to come out) i have absolutely no problem with this series but here's some things you should beware of: Blod ,death , a LOT of suspense and LGBQ+. I you are uncomfortable with your chid reading any of that this is not rhe book series for you. But in my opinion i think you grow up with the dragons and it helps you se other's point of view . In every book theres a story in the view of diferent dragons and if i may say so all of them have problems and some of them arent ready to save the world . Some have TERRIBLE parents and some fell weak and unimpotent but this is not the case of Tsunami but in the book we see the soft woried side of her the one the she dosen't want to show. The part that attacked the skywing in patrol slowly calms down in the book but she still has her Tsunami personality and of corse is still best fruends with clay starfight sunny and glory

Excellent read for older kids and adults!
My 8 and 10-year olds love these books! We read through the first one together, and this one is just as good, if not better. It tells a good story and leaves you constantly wondering what happens next. It has excellent character development among a group of the dragons and touches on life issues (successes, failures, disappointments) while telling a thrilling story. There is some violence with dragons fighting, so glad we read this together for my 8-year old. Both of my kids are learning some good new vocabulary words and it's become a nightly tradition to read a chapter or 2 with our family.

Dragons saving their world!
I began reading this series with my 9 year old granddaughter who, like me, is fascinated by dragons. I thought it would be a good way to interest her in more reading and ir was, but I didn't know how caught up I'd get into series! First, it is published by Scholastic which has been a trusted publisher of children/young adult reading since forever so I wasn't worried about the content and they usually published books that would hold a child's interest. Again I was right. The author fleshes out the characters so well that not only can you imagine how each of the dragon's look like, but I could imagine their voices while reading. At least so far, each book has focused on one of the dragon's of destiny and their abilities they have due to their tribe. The only problem is even their allies can't be trusted to let them complete their mission, ending the dragon wars and naming the true queen. Onto the third book which will focus on Glory, who is a Rainwing. Know what her secret power is? Not fire. Read the series and discover.

super!!!
I'm twelve years old and I LOVE this series. I've already read all four books that have come out and each and everyone of them was great (I personally think the four was the best, you can go see my review for that ;)). I also have a personal liking for Tsunami and Glory so, obviously I'd like this book. If you read the first book, you know the story line, if you haven't here it is: In the land of Pyrrah there are five dragonets who live away from the other dragons, in a cave, training to fulfill a prophecy. Their land is now in war because of the queen of all dragons has just died and the three daughters all see themselves fit to take over as queen. These dragonets have to end the war and choose their new queen, but they escaped from the cave and are now roaming free (sorry if thats a spoiler) and decide, in this book, to visit the homeland of Tsunami
