Japan Hobby Tool Vacuum Pad Camera Parts Opener for Camera Lens Repair Made in Japan

I am a camera-repair hobbyist for many years. I always tried cheaper solution for opening lenses, but this time I decided to try a dedicated tool and this one works very well. I managed to open a Hasselblad 80mm f2.8 lens with no problems. As the tool is made of "rings" - you might need to put then one inside the other to prevent a single ring from collapsing when opening a lens.

These work great! Just what I needed to get into a Canon lens I was repairing. A tip for use: Don’t press too hard, just let the rubber grip do the work. If you press down too hard, you may make the threads bind, making it even harder to unscrew to thing you are trying to unscrew.

These make so many things so much easier. Sometimes it's the only thing that will work. It's almost always better than tape on pliers and can often be used in place of a spanner. I use them pretty much every time I work on a camera or lens. Seems expensive for what you get in rubber, but it's worth it for how much easier life is with them.

These work really well for removing the name ring on most lenses. They can also work for removing the glass lens, but it depends on how they are assembled. I did hit a few Korean made vintage lenses which would not move (as there was a heavy amount of glue holding the assembly together). I feel like these were a bit overpriced, but they do their job.

These work perfectly for repairing my camera lenses.

Very hard and dense rubber. I used this to disassemble a nikkor 35-70 2.8 lens. It was difficult to get the internal element unscrewed even with these vacuum pads. I'm glad I got them, they work well.

This is a great set. Makes for really easy lens repairs on removing the front elements on lenses. I have done several 35mm f1.8, a 50mm f1.2, and a great 180mm f2.8 which had a ton of crap and some fungus growing on the INSIDE back element. Well with these I could remove all the affected glass and soak in hydrogen peroxide and vinegar...and the fungus was complete dissolved leaving sparkling glass elements! really like new. Best $$ I have spent in a long time.

I find these rubber cups very useful for lens repair. However, they are not as stiff as I would prefer, so they tend to mash when you put some power on them. They are only good for lens parts that are not super tightly screwed together.

Beautifully simple and make getting into a lens really easy. Not sure I would've been able to get into my old k-mount pentax lenses without them. I highly recommend these if you need to service a lens yourself. There's a great selection of sizes and they provide a ton of friction.

So far have dismantled and repaired three vintage camera lenses. These friction openers make life easy.
