Colonel Conk Black Super Shave Mug including Colonel Conk Shave Soap

It's a nice, modern looking mug with an almond soap. The almond smell is quite nice, but a little too sweet. I prefer Taylor of Old Bond's Sandalwood cream.The mug itself is large, and very nice. My issue with it is that it's sides may actually be too large. That is, they're too tall. I can't really fit my hand in to lather with a brush well. Maybe I just have freakishly large hands and haven't realized it all my life, but I like to think not. It's very hard to get a good full lather going without a solid range of motion within the bowl of the mug to make it useful for me. I will be ordering something with shallower sides.Maybe I'll make this a jumbo coffee mug or something.Or a small change jar.

The mug was much bigger than I thought it would be, which might be good for some, but it barely fits in my medicine cabinet. It's like ordering a mocha grande in my bathroom. It's just bigger than it needs to be.Second, it's much thinner and fragile than it seems, or should be. I can't imagine it surviving very long in a bathroom. If it takes any kind of tumble, or even if you just set it down a bit too hard, my guess is it would break.Third, it's cool that it comes with free shaving soap, but I was expecting some kind of standard shaving soap. It came with Almond. What kind of man wants to smell like almonds? Either Colonel Conk has very unusual views on the art of manliness, or this is the company's way to unload unpopular soaps.Not worth the money.

The glaze chips far too easily. The shave soap dried out, too quickly.

This shaving mug is lage enough to take a 3.5 oz bar of Neutrogena glycerin based soap without cutting the corners off the bar. Fragrance free Neutrogena is available in most drug stores and works well as a shaving soap.
