Love Love Love Tappits
When I first stared working with Tappits I was as frustrated as most of you are. I watched videos on YouTube to help master the skill that helped a bit but I was still frustrated. I knew that there had to be a secret since they are used so widely around the world. Now that I have found the secret I am in love with them I want to put writing on everything I do. The secret - read the directions. I thought I had read the instructions but I must have skipped the part where it says that the gum paste or fondant needs to be so thin that you can place it on top of the instructions and read them. So I thought I'd give it a try. I pulled out my pasta machine and set it to six. Put the fondant through and ended up with an almost paper thin sheet of fondant. Put this on my card table (by the way this is the best place I have found when working with fondant and gumpaste) and pressed it down slightly. I then cut out my letters. Pulled off the excess and let them sit for about an hour. Because it was so thin they dried really quickly and could easily be removed and added to the plaque going on my cake. Give them a try they are very fun and add a professional finish to your cake, cookies or other projects.

Beautiful
They work pretty good. Sometimes they stick. What I did was brush a generous amount of cornstarch in the mold before the fondant. The lettering is beautiful.

Cute/Whimsical but time consuming!
This product was very cute and served the purpose but I did not know that they came together manufactured of a stick that could not be separated! They were a bit tricky to use, like trying to get the fondant out of the letter and I had to make multiple letters that I didn't need since they were all connected in 4 rows! This made my process much more time consuming since I had to re-roll my fondant! The seller was awesome and replaced the product rapidly but it was still a bit tricky to use!

Update of these and the upper case
I don't like these. They are one long strip which makes it difficult to cut individual letters, if that were possible. The fondant is impossible to use with these. I would like to get a refund. I do not recommend.Update:Ok guys. I tried again. This time, I made the fondant very thin and cut sections small enough for individual letter. I cut by pressing down and moving from side to side. They worked! Yay! They are so thin that I had to let them dry out a little so they will hold their shape. I might try adding a little tylose powder to strengthen the fondant, but right now, drying them a bit works.😊

Thanks!
Received the product (it was as described) and in a timely manner...thanks! Did my research on the product and, while it does take trial & error, it works after you get the hang of it. I use it my own way, which works for me, and I usually do not roll my fondant out thin for this. I roll it a bit thicker, do the impression and leave it to sit about 30 minutes before removing the excess from around the letters. I find that the thickness works better for me (shaky hands lol) so removing the excess with thin fondant would usually mess up the letters and I would have to redo them.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
These cutters were a total waste of money because they are cumbersome to use, and I did not once get the fondant letters to release cleanly from the cutter. I thought that this product consisted of a separate cutter for each letter, but the letters are side by side on a plastic strip. By the time I got the letters out of the cutters, they were so mutilated that they were useless. I contacted the manufacturer by email, but got no response. Cake decorators beware! Save yourself a headache and don't purchase this product.

Beautiful lettering on my cakes!
These worked for both my daughter & my son's cakes. The letters are about 1.5 inches & fit nicely on a gum paste ribbon on both cakes. I used gum paste to make them & rolled it thin. I used shortening so it wouldn't stick & I "smacked" the edge of the plastic stick on the table, when the letters stuck a little to the cutter. Other letters stayed on the rolling mat & I used a tooth pick to remove excess paste form around the letters & let them dry for a few minutes before I moved them. Everyone was impressed with how the letters looked. Watch some directional videos on youtube.Good Luck!

Packaging didn't come with the Numbers!!!!
Unfortunately, I did not receive the items as described. I did not receive any numbers. Instead I was given a duplicate of one of the letter sets, probably by mistake. Amazon tells me that I cannot exchange, or return. I'm actually very fond of fmm tappits, and like them very much. It just makes me upset that I'll have to order this again hoping to get numbers because I need the numbers to match.
