Works tremendously well, but beware of the click
It's exactly what you expect, but be prepared for a loud snap sound when you press it. It's designed for use as a foot-toggle, so using your fingers can be more of a challenge than expected. Furthermore, it makes a loud click noise when pressed. Not from distortion or anything (you won't have that problem when using Dynamic mics), but just the physical press results in the click. Important to note if you have floor mics/booms angled down.

Solid, Clean - Dynamic Mics ONLY!
This unit is ideal when needing to switch between two microphones feeding one signal chain. The ability to adjust pad and trim and even lift the ground of one of the devices lets you mix and match between mics with differing output levels or sources with different volumes. (I use it to switch between a Didgeridoo mic and a percussion mic.)One VERY IMPORTANT note! As with all Radial gear, this well-built box is designed to have the absolute minimum impact on the quality of your signal. As a result, the unit has an extremely clean signal path with no crosstalk between the two inputs. This means that it does NOT play well with phantom-powered signals! It's stated in the product description like this: "The HotShot ABi is ideal for applications such as switching between 2 dynamic microphones on a stage or selecting between 2 audio sources." The key here is "Dynamic Microphones." Users complaining of loud pops are likely switching between one or more units receiving phantom power, which will (like any mic whose power is abruptly turned on or off) deliver a signal spike. This is for dynamic or passive signal paths only: do NOT use it with any phantom powered rig.Solidly built, clean signal path with some helpful additions make this product do exactly what it is meant to do, and do it very well. I realize that without phantom power or other signal-altering circuitry it is not possible to add a status LED to tell you which side is "live" but that is my only complaint about the unit: otherwise this is a 5-star buy.

Solved a Big Challenge
I have two rigs on stage, one for when I play guitar and one when I play keyboards. I also use a Boss vocal processor. This switch allows me to have two microphones running through one processor and then into one channel. The other benefit is that only one of my microphones are active at a time which helps the ambient noise coming through the PA. The only problem I have is when I switch positions and forget to switch the microphones, but that's just user error.

Well made noiseless switching solution
Where has this been all my life? Works great for switching between my wireless headset and my mic on a stand. Well made and worth the price. I can think of many uses for this switch for preforming live. Did not add any noise to my system

Specialized for passive XLR line switching
Exactly the product for swapping between two lines or even balanced XLR DI lines back to the FoH desk. As stated this should not be used with phantom power enabled, but most desks can be configured to bypass phantom power for specific channels.

Five Stars
Just what I needed to switch between 2 dynamic microphones on one input.

Great idea - horrible product
This item makes a loud sharp popping sound when switching the toggle - absolutely unusable on stage. This is not stated in the product description.
