Foldable Exercise Mat

I have used this mat for 18 months and it's still as good as new (5 days a week - pushups, running in place, side/front planks, roller "abdominal" wheel, stretches, etc.) It has not deteriorated at all. It is thin (about 1/4") but works fine on my laminated flooring (not uncomfortable, although I do rest my arms/knees on soft leg weights for certain exercises). It also folds up nicely for storage. I would highly recommend it.

This is a foldable exercise mat. The mat has small dimples which enables it to be folded accordion style. Folded, the mat measures 24.5” x 9.5” x 2”. Unfolded, it is 24” x 72” x 0.25”. The mat weighs 4.8 lbs. Both the top and bottom surfaces are textured and plasticy rubberized rather than foam. The thickness is equivalent to a 4 mm yoga mat, but not very squishy. The SPRI logo appears in red near one corner of the top side of the mat. The mat was made in China. I like the foldability of this mat, but it is really, really heavy for an exercise mat. In comparison, my 6 mm foam yoga mat weighs 2.8 lbs and provides a lot more padding. I had hoped to use this folding mat for travel, but given its weight, I won’t be flying with it since it adds too much weight to my suitcase. The plastic texture of the mat isn’t good for yoga since it is slippery, not grippy. The mat also has some powerful off-gassing at first because of the plastic composition. Overall, this mat provides minimal padding in a foldable but heavy format.

I like the cushion that the SPRI Exercise Mat Foldable provides. Although the mat's texture is a little smoother than a standard yoga mat, it's still grippy enough that I don't slide around on it while stretching, and the mat doesn't slide around on my vinyl floor. It folds accordion-style to store flat. As far as having an accordion-fold mat like this on, or a roll-up mat, it's probably going to boil down to personal preference. I don't travel with my yoga mat, but I do appreciate that this one can be folded up and stored in a skinnier space than a traditional roll-up yoga mat. I use exercise videos, so furling and unfurling my yoga mat likes to be a quick process. I'm still getting used to furling and unfurling my accordion-folded SPRI mat as quickly as I can roll a traditional mat out. I'm sure that if I took my show on the road, having a flat-pack yoga mat could be more convenient during the travel phase of the workout. The reason I give this mat 5 stars is that it is really comfortable to use for stretches and floor-work. The 6-mm thickness feels extra plush on pressure points without being too marshmallowy. The chilled-out texture of the mat is nice, because sometimes the texture on a standard yoga mat can distract me when I'm in a movement I'm not too thrilled about doing. I would probably buy another yoga mat just like this one, if/when this one wears out!

This is the thinnest but heaviest yoga mat I have ever owned. It's not very good, there's marks all over from my shoes. It looks ugly now. I hate how heavy this is but it's so thin. It's a huge let down. I have used this for exercising and it's just not very good.

This is a review for the SPRI Exercise Mat Foldable 6mm Thick High Density Foam Fitness & Yoga Mat 72” long. There are lots of things to recommend about this mat. The first is that it is so nice to be able to fold it up (like an accordion) after you use it so that it takes up relatively little space. I use a thick mat at home for exercises and I have to roll it when I’m done to put it back - it takes up a lot of room and is difficult to put away. Not so with this one. This mat is not super thick - I happen to like it a lot but it’s not as thick/soft as some theraputic yoga mats that are made for people who may have some health issues. I do have serious issues so the mat I normally use is very cushioned. This one? Not so much so but it’s fine and actually really good for exercises like bridges. I do recommend this. I am not sure how sturdy it is or how long the mat will stay in one piece without any tears at the folds. If that or any other problems occur, I will come back and edit this review.

The color of the mat and the way it folds are excellent. It is not as thick as expected, but that is not a big problem in doing exercises. This is a mat for doing sit ups, push ups, and other types of things which make the mat useful, but not for sleeping or resting. The folding for storage is really easy since the pieces are sewn in such a way that they stow on top of each other! Great item and one that my wife really likes for doing her exercises at home rather than at the gym! Highly recommended!

I love that this is so easy to store and I don't have to worry about fitting it into a bag to keep it stored and keeping it rolled in place. This is very dense. I almost felt like I was sticking to it some. I'm okay with that and I didn't even notice it except when I first got on it. I still prefer mine a little thicker. They are just more comfortable with a hard floor underneath. However I like this one very much and use it daily now. I love just setting it to the side when I am done with the mat neatly folded and not taking up too much room.
