Works Great!
If you're looking for an exact replica of the harmful chemical dyes you can buy anywhere, you won't find it here. However, if you're looking for a great alternative with a few flaws, this is it!! These are not bright, primary colors, they are closer to jewel tone but they aren't pale. They're more gel, not liquid. They mix well as long as you use them in the first year, I'd say. I found some that got lost in the back of my cabinet and used it knowing it was closing in on two years. It was a bit harder to mix and get the color evenly distributed but I left icing in my kitchen aid and walked away for a few minutes and it was fine after a few scrapes of the side and another round. I did try baking with it and I felt like it tasted like veggie chips (it was a dyed cake)! My dad gladly gobbled up the whole cake but I will not bake it again. Several of my kids react to dyes, from hives to migraines and for years, there weren't "fun" alternatives for them. This allows me to make some of that stuff for them, without worries.

Good replacement for artificial food coloring
We recently learned that my daughter is sensitive to artificial food color, as it can cause behavior and mood issues. In switching to more natural options, I bought India Tree natural decorating colors to add color to baked items such as cakes and cookies. We just used it to color white frosting for her birthday cupcakes, and were very pleased with the results. The colors were vivid, and I noticed little change to the flavor (In other naturally-colored products we've tried, we can often taste whatever was used to make the color.). Do not expect a bright blue; the blue came out more of a grey-lavender shade, and there was a hint of flavor to the blue, though not unpleasant. I personally liked the color, but it wasn't very blue. I found that both the Red and Yellow were bright and flavor-less. India Tree is the only natural decorating color I have been able to find, so I can't really compare it to any other brands, but I'm very happy that it's available so we have the option of food color without artificial colors.

Great all natural food colorings! Colors are not as bright but worth it for an all-natural product!
These are great for coloring frostings or using in recipes that require dyes. They are all natural so of course the colors are not as bright as typical food colorings; however, knowing that they are all natural and made from nature makes the subtle colors worth it. Eating healthier means discovering new ways to make food taste and look good. I'm fine with the colors but know that you will not achieve the bright colors you might be used to. Still great product! Will definitely continue to buy!

LOVE THESE!
We tend to steer away from artificial colors, so I was very excited to find these. (Coloring food is fun for tots). I recommend storing in the fridge so they last longer (Says so on the package and I missed it) and because they are natural, the colors change with time slightly, but these are great for anything! Thicker than petroleum based food colorings, more of a gel consistency, but they mix very well. The colors are very nice, Not as vibrant as the chemical ones, but hey, I'm not complaining, just informing. LOVE THESE! We've made green eggs, colored yogurt for a mixing project, and made some yellow frosting. All turned out excellent.

Cannot Use - Spoiled & Damaged
I literally received this product 10 mins before posting this review and I am very disappointed. I just attempted to return but item is not eligible for return. First the item does not appear to be new at all. It looks as though it’s been sitting. It wasnt securely packaged considering it’s a liquid substance, one of the bottles broke open and leaked and most disappointing, it does not look safe to use. The yellow looks curdled and unsafe to put in anything I would bake and give to customers. This could be a very good product but this is not how I would present a product to a customer. The price is pretty steep for something that does not appear useable, consumable or edible. Unless this is made right my review will stand and I would not recommend this product at all. Please see pics.

Effectiveness VERY dependent on shelf life (freshness)
There are widely different reviews for this product and here's why: the effectiveness of the coloring GREATLY depends on the shelf life. I bought this product first last year (2014) and it was great, it iced about 3 cakes I believe and then I used the rest of the coloring to dye Easter eggs (which worked out pretty well actually). Yes as people stated, the blue is not the best hue, you're not going to get a bright beautiful blue but the pay off is that you're not using artificial coloring derived from petroleum by-products. Then, I bought this item again May 23 for a June birthday cake, the item arrived with saying "best by 6/12/15". The coloring was so much less effective!!! I would guess the lot was the same as the one I bought the previous year, perhaps even older, or not stored at the proper temperature. I used all of the red and most of the blue to acquire a very pale purple. Very disappointing. I stored the item in the fridge when I first got it, both times, and would recommend that. I'll keep buying this again for cakes, and hope that I'll be getting a batch that's fresher, since there is no alternative for natural dyes without making them homemade.

Fantastic Safe Dyes!
As a family, we stay away from artificial food dyes, so when I heard of these India Tree dyes I was so excited as the colors are from foods! They are more gel like than your traditional, artificial food coloring sets, which I like! There is definitely less chance for spilling, and less mess! They work very well, but as with any natural dyes, you have to use a little more than what you might be accustomed to using. I have not had an issue with it making icing and things runny like I would if I were to use the same amount of artificial dyes. The colors are a little more muted and natural looking, but I prefer that anyway. For those looking for vibrancy, I have still achieved vibrant colors, but they are not like the almost neon colors you will see with the artificial dyes.

so frustrated - I REALLY wanted to love it
Searching for food dye that does not have any corn derivative in it is really difficult. I found this and was willing to pay $30.00 for it!!! 1. The set is for 3 colors and you can mix to make all the pretty colors in the pictures, I am an artist and have not problems with mixing colors. It comes with Red, Yellow, blue 2. Problem 1: The blue was not blue at all - it was swampy muddy green. not teal, not blue-green, not anywhere close to Blue. I shook and shook the product until I was blue in the face and was still a swampy mud brown/green. Absolutely nothing I can do with this color. My daughter wanted a princess cake with pink and purple - I said no problem. Big Mistake - I simply CANNOT make purple from this color. 3. It takes a TON of coloring to shade the icing. I have 2 pounds of icing (standard for a small cake) - it took over 1/2 the red to make a light pink icing. So frustrating. Now, the red is almost gone and I cannot make purple. this stinks! 4. Oh yea, it cost $30 for this?? Save your money - make your own dye from food - I am about to go on an exploration to find the perfect way to make purple because my little girl just wants a pink and purple cake.

Not as per my expectation but product is good
Product is not as per my expectation.. Quite possible i had wrong expectations.. With image i thought the size of product larger but it is very small. It can be used to color cream only and cannot be used to color the cake.. Incase u want to make layers of cake with different color. They are natural colors and hence would prefer this always for creams and icing.
