Ibanez Standard TMB30-MGR Mint Green - 4-String Electric Bass

The shorter scale makes it easy to fly around the neck with ease, the set up was good out of the box, nice low action. The pickups sound good. The lower tension of the strings make bending super easy. The only thing i needed to adjust was the intonation, no big deal it's a 5 min job and the tools to do it are in the box. This bass is not just a great bass for the money, it's a great bass period. This bass is not just for kids and beginners I've been playing for 35 years and have many guitars and bases and this thing holds it's own. It has a little more bass frequencies than a regular size PJ Bass due to the shorter scale but it can also growl with the treble turned up. Only negative is i thing the head stock looks ugly but i can live with that

I wanted to try a short scale bass. I normally play a full scale instrument. The Ibanez is well constructed but it is 'neck heavy' so you have to adjust your playing style to compensate. This has been a bit of a pain but it happens with some bass models. The item I received appeared to be new but there was quite a lot of scratching on the string guard even after I had removed the protective plastic. Overall, I am satisfied and have decided to keep the instrument from Musicman. It was well packed and otherwise presentable.

This is going to have to be a Part One of my review, I think. I’ve just received the package for this item. Am I excited about it? Well, yes of course. But does it come ready to play straight out of the box? 😐 C’mon now! Basically, you’ve got the same build and finish quality of a guitar of up to 4 times the price, and you’re expecting it to come out of the box perfectly set up? Get real! But actually, adjusting the intonation was a breeze. Adjusting the string highlights without needing to tweak the truss-rod? We’ll see. (I’ll let you know in part 2.) It’s giving me a bit of fret buzz, although we have no idea what the strings are. I really shouldn’t be having to even think about possibly re-crowning any frets, and yet the quality of the frets looks outstanding. The fret ends are like super hosiery friendly smooth. I haven’t decided about the pickups yet. But for now I’m sure they’re at least perfectly adequate. And the electronics? The same. But as yet I haven’t had a chance to plug it in. But then again, for a guitar that’s costing £220 to £240 instead of £1240+? What are we complaining about? I think this is the kind of guitar that’s worth modding, if you want to, as and when. So as a general inspection, starting at the headstock and working down: the tuning keys are smooth, (although for the 4th string is infuriating - the slightest movement over tunes) and the overall quality of the neck looks amazing, one piece of straight wood grain, although I did have to add a bit of graphite to the nut slots. (Not a problem). Down to the body part now. The bolt-on neck has recessed bolt heads … luxury! I love how smooth and flawless the mint green finish is. The string travel nice and accurately over the pickups and the bridge looks like excellent quality too. I also love the chrome cover which holds the tone control and the Jack socket. So I’ll be doing a part 2 to this review once I’ve had this guitar for a few weeks, and I’ll share what issues I’ve had as they arise. Thanks for reading.

Great sounding, super-fun, short-scale bass. If you read any reviews about neck dive being an issue, I've not found that to be true at all - just be sure to use a good quality strap. Great tones for anybody who wants a passive p/j short-scale bass that is really easy to play!

Bought this from musicroom through Amazon. Exceptionally packaged! Two days early. The bass, amazing. For the price, it’s a great bass. Feels great and sounds good. From my first cheap guitar 15 years ago to now, the quality has improved so much.

It's a good bass. Feels solidly made. The audio is decent and the strings provided are good. My only complaint would be the style of the tunings but that is purely personal preference. I highly recommend this bass.

Having played bass guitar back in the 1960/70 the urge to play again prompted me to buy a new bass. THIS IBANEZ BASS IS BRILLIANT having owned Gibson and a Ibanez Rickenbacker back in 1970s I don't know how they produce this bass at such a reasonable price.

Para empezar, la relación calidad-precio es insuperable. Por otro lado, me parece muy adecuado para empezar con el bajo si estás acostumbrado a tocar guitarra porque tiene unas dimensiones que lo hacen muy cómodo de tocar. Estoy muy contento con las prestaciones del instrumento. Lo recomiendo por bueno, bonito y barato.

Bonne basse pour commencer mais clairement destinée a des débutants petit gabarit... Je voulais tester short scale mais j'ai renvoyé linstru qui frisait trop et donc qui vaut un rendu sonore vraiment pas génial.
