Easy Recipes, Low Cost - VERY glad I ordered this book.
Are you like me? Do you get frustrated when you open a cookbook only to learn that you need to buy countless ingredients to make a recipe work? Or do you get disheartened when a recipe sounds great, but you know it will take more time in the preparation than you care to give? The minute I opened this book, I knew I found a cookbook I'll really use.The recipes are inexpensive to make, and they feature easy, simple ingredients. These are my kind of recipes . . . and since they are also slow cooker recipes, they're also super easy to make.Of course, since I must eat gluten-free, having each recipe gluten-friendly is a plus, too. However, these recipes can easily be enjoyed by anyone, whether they eat gluten-free or not.Be sure to read the introduction. Stephanie gives lots of tips there, including a section on how to best use your slow-cooker.Each recipe has a "verdict" at the end, so you can learn more about how Stephanie, her friends and family felt about the recipe.I enjoyed the chapter that features "staple" food recipes -- everything from baby food to yogurt. Here is a tip from me on the yogurt starter: Buy a plain yogurt that has no stabilizers added -- works better. Fage Greek Yogurt works particularly well. Not all the recipes are for me, which is true for ANY cookbook. A few of the recipes contain foods I do not or cannot eat, although with most of them, I can adapt them to make them work for me. Nice. This is the first cookbook I've purchased since going gluten-free where I not only want to -- but probably really WILL try a majority of the recipes in the book.

well thought out book
I must say I was surprised at all the various recipes included in the book.It was very organized and very easy to follow. At the time I purchased the book,I only had a 6 quart slow cooker. However, many of the recipes asked for a 4 quartslow cooker, so I went out and bought one. I'm glad I did, now I have everythingI need to make all the recipes I want. (Although some dessert recipes call for a 2 quart).I like the way the book explains each recipe simply and easy to understand. A lotof the book I will never use because I was mostly interested in cooking for dinner.Overall a very good book for us novice slow cooker types. It's a chance to be a little creative.

Going to give this as gifts for Christmas!
I found this book when I was looking for books on my kindle. I downloaded the sample version, liked the idea behind the book. From what I was able to read I instantly came home and ordered this book in "hard cover" including shipping I paid $6 and change. This book is the BEST $6 I ever spent! I just discovered I was gluten free about a year ago and am still having a hard time finding meals that my husband and I can eat together (plus he works a different shift than me) I love this book, I'm going to get the authors other book and give this as a gift to my friends and family. I had my husband choose some meals from the book and he can't stop talking about them, never mind that they are gluten free and taste great! I realized that with us working different shifts I can make a meal while I'm sleeping, when I get up in the morning I take some for lunch for while I'm at work and when my husband gets home he has a fresh dinner waiting for him. I love this book, we are finally eating meals together again and my family and friends love the food too!

Greatest Crockpot Recipes
I've been following Stephanie O'Dea on-line sine last August, when my oven broke down and couldn't afford to fix. I turned to my crockpot and was looking for something new. Stehpanie had what I was looking for and more. I wowed my family with her recipes. So when she came out with the next book More Make It Fast Cook It Slow, I couldn't wait to get it. Didn't know this book could top the last. Stephanie's recipes are amazing! The book is reader friendly, ingredient friendly and broken down with a budget in mind, hence budget friendly. I highly recommend!

Great Cookbook for Ideas
I love this cookbook! I started out reading her blog and have used the online recipes frequently but I like recipes in book form so I can browse for ideas when I meal plan.So far I have made 3 recipes out of the book and they have turned out well. I have about 10 more queued up for parties or events in the near future. The recipes are easy enough for cooking novices but they make tasty and interesting food. I am a decent cook in my own right but it is simple to tweak Stephanie's recipes to personal tastes with no issue (she often gives suggestions as well) and when I am suffering from a creativity block I know I can trust to follow the recipe verbatim with good results.I love that most of the ingredients aren't highly processed foods (condensed soup for instance). I originally didn't like the "verdict" sections of each recipe but now that I have used a few I am really glad they are included. They give slightly more intimate details about each dish that the ingredients and instructions leave out.I have already recommended this book to several friends and purchased one as a gift.

Good with some new ideas
I loved the first book which was full of very clear and delicious recipes. This follow on is good, has some new material but is no where near as full of the recipes that I loved in the first one. Its a good addition to give a try, but know that its not as fantastic as the first one.

More Make it Fast, Cook it Slow
My daughter first acquainted me with this series of books. They are very uncomplicated and the recipes are tasty. No need for any huge preparation so this is great for the busy cook!

US terms but a wealth of ideas and an interesting read
I actually prefer this to the author's previous book!Once you get over the use of US terms (I've actually bought a set of US measuring cups by now!) and accept that some ingredients may not be available, there is a lot to read and enjoy in this cookery book, and the author brings her sense of humour and individual voice to every recipe. There are a lot of appealing meal ideas, and especially the vegetable side dishes which would be very useful for bringing along to parties and BBQs when you need to bring something to share. The book is set out in sections according to the price of the recipes, which may not be reflected in the UK, but essentially there are more vegetarian and bean-heavy recipes in the earlier "cheaper" chapters. The author has a very relaxed style and the recipes are easy but often with a twist. I'm looking forward to trying lots of the ideas. No pics, but that brings the cost down - and my cooking never seems to look like those glossy pics, anyway.I recommend this book.

Great book but measurements are American
It is a great book. Easy to use, great tips. Only downfall is I'm Canadian and the measurements were American (lbs). I would recommend this.

More Great Recipes
I also purchased the first book and use both on a regular basis. In fact I rarely use my other cookbooks any more.
