Good quality and is an exact match to the chain used on the Irwin Tools Vice Grip 9-Inch Locking Chain pliers. Bought this extension to add to the Irwin Tools Vise Grip 9 inch locking chain pliers to give extra girth. This unit comes with a pin to use in adding to the afore-mentioned pliers existing chain and is an exact match. There are no instructions on how to use the pin to add to the chain on the pliers so you have to already sort of know what you are doing. I managed to do the operation reasonably well and was satisfied with the results. Someone ought to do a you-tube video of this to help those who don't have a clue, but unfortunately it won't be me because I have already put it together and it won't come apart once together.

I often use these chain wrenches as a prop while I’m welding pipe. This extension added on to a 48” chain wrench allows me to have an adjustable point to get stable and comfortable welding 16” pipe in position.
