Lafitte the Pirate

Fascinating account of a colorful character and the people in his life. Accounts of Andrew Jackson and Governor Claiborne were not the superficial ones that I grew up with which were skewed toward the sugar-coated.

Book was a good read and seems like the most factual story of Jean Lafitte. There is so much still unknown about Jean.

I found data and sketches to be historically accurate. Two copies were purchased; one was a birthday present for my brother who has since communicated his enjoyment of the book. He is a very well informed person on the history of the MS-LA Gulf Coast.

It is a beautifully preserved copy of a Lyle Saxon book to add to my library.

The author gave an excellent historical account of Lafitte a d how he lived in relation to that specific time of New Orleans history.

Lafitte the Pirate was a very interesting person..who knew what elsehe did during that time. Lots of background of a very interesting time.
