This will keep you up at night!
Better writer than Nicholas Sparks IMO.Strong characterizations and engaging funny and clever dialogue. Wish he would write some more books. I’m in!

Can't Get Enough of Watervalley
Life in this small town may be simple, but the writing is authentic and captivating. The characters' feelings conveyed are both genuine and deep and expressed in honesty. I've fallen in love with the characters and town of Watervalley. I laughed out loud multiple times and had my heartstrings tugged, too. Loved this second book in the series and can't wait to read the next one.

His first book is great...this one even better
I bought this book due to how much I enjoyed Jeff High's first book, "More Things in Heaven and Earth: A Novel of Watervalley".Being from a rather small town, I could easily "own" the environment of Water valley, and even the characterists of many of the characters that the author presents. The plot of it all is interesting and realistic, although High does stretch some of the circumstances well beyond probability....yet that makes the book more fun, even exciting. At a few times I feel the lead character, young single doctor, Luke Bradford, is somewhat sophomoric in his romantic efforts, but that, too, added to the humor and fun of the reading.I enjoyed this book, and very much looked forward to getting back into it....a real page turner. It's an easy read, fun, spiced with humor, yet very realistic. It provides an outstanding opportunity of escape, while doing so with a bunch of pleasure, and even challenges some insight.I highly recommend it.

Captivating
Being from middle Tennessee, I seem to recognize many towns there, as Watervalley! I also have a sense of knowing so many of the people populating this fictional town, even the local doctor.Jeff has put the heart of America on paper. Once you meet the people of Watervalley, you will want to know them better!

Loved it, but.....
Loved being "back" in Watervalley , but the Oscar Fox story tied up a bit too neatly for me to give this five stars. That said, I still can't wait to read the next book in this addictive series!

Grinning & Glimmering
It's been a long time since I have so deeply resonated with a story! Jeff High captured my heart with the community of Watervalley. What deep truths he mines from common life experiences readers share with his characters. The insights Luke Bradford extolled in his speech to the graduates are lifelines to Truth. The romance & mystery intertwined with mini-tales of everyday people kept me in rapt attention- and challenges me to see those in my world with more grace, forgiveness & understanding. Thank you, Jeff! You have a wonderful gift!
