Great for anyone looking to start traveling toward the East.
I got this when I joined the fraternity and it opened my eyes to a lot of the duties for each role. I've referenced this book throughout my journey to the East and recently gifted it to another Mason looking to start going through the officer line. There are a lot of great templates in the book that are super helpful.

An excellent handbook & reference to use while you're working your way thru the chairs in the blue lodge. I bought a copy initially from curiosity, and immediately liked it. After I read it, I took it to lodge to share with the brethren, and after we had all had a chance to browse through it, I bought 5 more copies so that each line officer will have it with them in the coming year (and maybe I'll get my copy back :-)) This handbook is different than many of the others that I have used and referenced (such as "Our Stations, Our Places") in that it is more practical advice, and a list of tasks and suggestions for improvement than it is philospohical or esoteric. It describes the basic duties and expectations for each officer, provides a checklist as guidance for working your way through the year in that chair, and leaves a goodly amount of space for you to record your personal notes and lessons learned... either as a reminder, or to be passed on to the brother coming up behind you. Some small adjustments may need to be depending on your grand lodge jurisdiction and the practices therein, but it's just as much a personal journal of your journey or will be, if you use it as the author intended) as it is a handbook or reference. A deep thanks to Brother Hatcher for this working tool!

Good tool, put it to work.
Very helpful. One of many recommended books for getting into line. I would get this book when you are stepping into Jr. Deacon.

I love the way the author clarify each duty on each position by giving samples and a list of suggestions on how to have a productive year not only on the floor but also on your community.Highly recommend.

Gives you good plans for what you need to do prior to each station and after you're installed. Obviously, geared more towards a large, metropolitan lodge, but you can just as easily adjust it for a "country lodge". One of the better reference books on Masonry.
