Immaculate. A life-changing novel. Easily one of my favorite books & one of the first that comes to mind when asked for a recommendation.

Essential and Transformative
One of the great treasures we have in Audre Lorde is her ability to help us grapple with complexities associated with binary issues of dominance and subordination. This text is essential and deliberately incisive in its ability to address racism with respect to intersectionality and unpacking institutional power relations. We are all better when we dare to apply Lorde's practical wisdoms and our world can be reimagined if we move beyond the fears that often keep us complacent. -Stanley L. Johnson, Jr., Ph.D.

Small but powerful
Must read. A brilliant author that we must expose our youth too. I love her. I live and breathe Audre. A small book with a few essay that all can be find online. But if you are a fan it's a great book to add to your collection.

Personal Library Must-Have...
Found myself referencing this book so many times in my courses I got tired of going to the library. Now it's in my home, on my shelf within arms reach when I need to do look-ups and notations.

The masters tools will never dismantle the masters house
This book details how we can succeed if we form a community of like minded people. Differences in class can build obstacles so we have to reimagine our lives in a broader sense, inclusion instead of seclusion. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it as a valuable addition to your collection of books.

Still important
This is a very short but powerful collection of essays and papers from the late 1970s to early 1980s. Audre Lorde was an American self-described Black, lesbian, feminist. She was also a powerful poet. The few papers reproduced here could easily have been written yesterday. That says something terrifying. In the paper entitled 'Learning from the 1960s' presented at Harvard for the 1982 Malcolm X Weekend, she states: "... we must recognise that many of our high expectations of rapid revolutionary change did not in fact occur. And many of the gains that did are even now being dismantled." That rings as true today as it did in 1982. Yet these papers also stress unity despite difference, and strength from within. I think everyone should read Audre Lorde. She spoke/speaks sense.

Beautiful and Important.
Well Written and hits hard at crystalizd ideologies . It can be read as a perfect preamble to Zami, A new meaning for my name.
