Can the sensor and other components be safely removed when not in use?

Yes you simply reverse the process of putting it on. That said when removing the pickup portion from the bridge do not pull by the wire. Easy peazy

What is the frequency range for this pickup? I am considering trying to adapt it for use on an autoharp.

Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. To answer your question this pickup will amplify all audible frequencies. You might want to also look into our AP series pickups. Those might work a little better and you won't have to alter the pickup. Best, Kremona North America

Can it work with phantom power at all?

This is a passive piezo pickup and neither requires nor suports phantom power, as it's not a balanced output. You COULD choose to pass it through a preamp which runs on your choice of an A/C adapter, or batteries, or phantom power.
