WECKJar Tulip

As may be the case for some considering these (very) large jars for the use of pouring liquid (i.e. tea, lemonade, etc.), I was apprehensive about purchasing them, because I figured it may prove difficult to pour without making a mess...quite the opposite. 2.5 liters is just over half a gallon, so in terms of weight, it isn't heavy. In order to avoid a mess when pouring (when it's full), you simply tip the top of the jar without lifting the bottom. It appears, the design of the lip by the Weck jar(s), is the trick. To ensure it doesn't slip out of our hands, we use 2 hands to lift it, with one of them being at the bottom of the jar. Once you get past the fear, it's awesome. We love it!

These jars were priced great and they were carefully packaged, arrived in perfect condition. They are large, great for marinated slaws, large batches of salsa or soups, so many ways to use them.

I would have rated the jar 4 stars if it held up. It looks very nice, and the only star off is the lid is a pain to close (the rubber gasket doesn't fit snug to the top glass part and doesn't stay it place.... but it doesn't fit slightly loosely either where you can lay it down easier on top [and getting you wouldnt want it loose anyway]... so its hard to get a perfect fit when closing and I noticed a few times it would leak as the rubber didn't line up perfectly).But the glass itself broke after I very lightly moved and then dinged it against the other Weck glass I had.My 6months of making Ume Plum Liquor was wasted right as I was about to pour some for my friends while we were on vacation...You could see the glass gets extremely thin (almost the thickness of a razor blade, maybe even less!) at the part where it broke in my pic.Maybe it was a bad batch I got but I think I may buy Le Parfait jars in the future as I liked how the rubber sticks on the lids and how it closes more simpler. Weck is a much prettier glass though so hoping they fix these issues with the thin glass and awkward rubber gasket.

Okay I've loved Weck Jars for years, the different shapes and sizes adds to fun of canning especially when gift giving.My favorite shape has always been the tulip jar so when I found them in this large size ... I had to redo my cabinet of staples. Snack bars, cookies and special treats ... look so appealing in the jars on the open shelves.

I made my own brown sugar and this jar was perfect for it. It seals completely, but sometimes I have a little difficulty placing the red rubber seal. Otherwise, this is a great looking vessel to seal and display foods. Helps keep bugs out.

These are very durable- I use them to make iced teas and keep them in the fridge for weeks at a time. They could also double as flower vases in the off-season! I found wooden tops with seals for them (also made by Weck) so we don't have to un-clamp and re-clamp every time. They work great!

I really like the Weck jars. They are so versatile, and the lids are interchangeable so they can be used with many different sizes. These 2.5 liter jugs are a little larger than I anticipated, but will still work well for my needs.

Delivered on time and wrapped very well. Arrived safe and sound. Price was fair as well. I will be storing most my dry goods in these jars from now on. Pests have managed to find their way into almost all other containers. I have 6 and I'm going for 10. Great buy!
