Waterproof & lightweight
Short haired, 3 year old Border collie, 21kg. Bought medium, fully waterproof, bit wide at the bum but I don’t think I would get a better fit. Only loses one star as I believe overpriced.

Great rain jacket
This seems to be the same type of material that my own waterproof jacket is made of, probably explains the price. We went out in quite a downpour a few weeks ago and he came back as dry as me, which was brilliant.I bought a medium (which was a size up) as our Working Cocker (not sure he knows he's a working one!) has quite a long, lean body and I wanted him to be covered. He's not that keen on putting it on as he has to put his head through the hole (much easier when there is two of you) but once on and the straps are adjusted he's absolutely fine and doesn't seem to notice it. It must be quite comfortable as he's even been known to go to sleep in it.The purple colour isn't as vibrant as the colour shown, more is the pity. The reflective trim is helpful and I particularly like the fact the collar goes up a long way.

Does the job.
Throws off the rain well enough and ideal as wanted something small and light to pack with no fur or padding as mine has enough of that already.Minus one star as it won't go over a harness, I mistakenly took the loop for attaching a beacon as a point of entry for a leash and whilst it fits well in length and girth there's little room around the neck.Fir for purpose if setting out in the rain but to clip on in a quick shower it's a bit of a fuss.

Not great for all shapes.
I got this for my bull terrier cross. He has a deep chest, and very broad, muscular shoulders.Measurement wise, he should fit in the small, yet it was so tight around the neck and incredibly restrictive across the shoulders, and impeded his movement. The medium, which he now has, is still quite snug neck/shoulders, but not enough to to be uncomfortable as far as i can tell. It is, however, about 6 inches too long, so he has a little roof effect above his tail. I just find this annoying. It would be nice if the neck was adjustable (Hurtta has this covered - they just dont currently have a coat suitable for summer rain) and perhaps if muscular/broad dogs were taken into account. Most ads for Ruffwear seem to involve slim breeds like collies and viszlas.

Does the job
Already had one of these for my older Irish Setter and bought another for going one, it’s brilliant for keeping back dry and most of front feathering. Also turquoise against their coats means I can see them when they are in the bushes and trees, they look great.

PERFECT
I have a big Akita. He is 75cms along from bottom of his neck to end of back. He is 40 inches girth (chest). This XL coat fits him perfect with room to spare. The clasps which are hidden at the sides are adjustable, so no slippage of coat. Really impressed as the neck area is all covered and it's also a lovely colour. Highly recommend.

Expensive
Sizing is not good. Ordered correct chest size for my dog but its far too long. Had to use it as weather was really bad. It does the job but was hoping for a better fit.

Keeps dog dryer.
Expensive but great waterproof coat. Tried loads in all pet shops but this one fits well and allows complete movement. Folds up so small it fits any pocket so ready to put on if needed. Recommended if you have the money.
