Statt bunter Bilder gibt es jede Menge detailierter Informationen zur grünen Insel, angefangen bei der Anreise, zur Flora und Fauna, sowie eine Fülle an genau beschriebenen Wanderrouten. Ohne dieses Buch wäre mir bei meinem 10-tägigen Aufenthalt auf Yakushima vermutlich einiges entgangen.

There is very little information on Yakushima in english and this book certainly explains everything you'll need to know about the island. I recently visited Yakshima for 5 days this past may and used this book for the majority of my information. I even used the information in this book to rent my car on the island! One thing the book does not mention is that when you arrive at the ferry terminal, there are people there to greet you with a map of the island and pamphlets in english that detail all the spots you'll want to see. Nonetheless, the information contained in this book is well worth it if you plan to visit yakushima. Additionally, unless you plan on trekking through the island and staying in in the mountains multiple nights, I don't think the map that is suggested in the book is necessary. Yakushima is well traveled, well signed, and the trails I visited for day treks were very well marked.

Very handy guide with plenty of information on trails and activities to do while in Yakushima, highly recommend you purchase this!
