Incredibly sturdy and very spacious
I bought this bag for my college nursing bookload. In the past, I've also tended to carry in my school bags everything that I could ever conceivably need for any situation—this has been an issue on my back in the past, so a rolling backpack especially was important to me to get for that reason as well. I had bought another rolling backpack on Amazon before for a similar price, but it didn't have as many pockets as it first appeared, and the ones it did competed with the other pockets around it for space, so if you used one pocket then the rest would be inaccessible. With one minor exception, every pocket in this bag does not have this issue. There are a very large number of pockets in this bag, especially in the forward compartments, but there are still enough in the main compartment that I can keep my soft books, papers, and hard books all separate from one other. Even when it's cramped to capacity, the zipper holding the compartment together doesn't feel at any structural risk. The rod that runs through the back of the bag and into the handle is not separated from the main compartment's back by anything but a somewhat thin material, and you can feel through to it with a hand. There's a soft and thin styrofoam lining that helps keep it from jutting against the rest of what you might store in the main compartment, but the cloth separating back can be opened to put more stuffing there if you're worried about it. Putting more in there to buffer around the rod and make sure it doesn't push against your things shouldn't decrease space by much of anything. I haven't done anything with it yet, as the styrofoam lining is effective enough for me. The handle itself is a little bit testy sometimes when you try to push it back down, but that feels like such a nitpick compared to everything else the bag does well. It's surprisingly light on its own, and its backpack straps fold up extremely, extremely neatly so that you don't have to deal with fighting them ever. They attach to the bottom of the bag by a stable hook when you want to use them, and they can detach to tuck away tightly and completely when you're done with them. There's no having to feed them through straps and adjusting and readjusting them each time you want to put them on. I only switch this to be a backpack on my back when I'm trudging through snow for up to fifteen minutes, but I don't find getting it together very difficult. It's not comfortable when worn that way, but this bag has the most effective design I can think of for backpack straps on what should generally be a rolling backpack. It has two bottle holders on each side of the bag which are made out of cloth on the bottom with more mesh towards the top. They're very sturdy, and so far I haven't had issues with putting water bottles in either one, so long as it doesn't have a really weirdly large base. I'm not afraid of this part of the bag breaking over time: it's not flimsy at all. Another small thing about the extended handle is that it's surprisingly not uncomfortable to use as someone who's 5'3", but there's a lot of room that I think that someone much taller than me wouldn't be uncomfortable at all using it. I'm on the very shorter end of comfortable use. The bag is capable of handling water (or, well, melted fallen snow, from where I'm from) to an extent, but I don't think you could throw it in a pool. It's just the kind of water resistant that you would hope to expect from a good backpack, where it can handle the elements to a reasonable (but not magical) extent. I jam this thing full of stuff. Occasionally, I have to put it in a tall and narrow school locker. It fits in perfectly neatly, and I don't have to fight to pull it out. It kind of shocked me when I first saw it manage that. Given its surprising quality, I would struggle to justify buying a different bag at this price point. I can't think of any particular issues other than what I mentioned further up. I don't really post reviews, but I feel obligated to post one to glow about this backpack because it's been just so reliable. I'll return to this review in a few months to update it based on how the backpack holds up over time.

Great Bag! Purchased For Traveling
I bought this rollerboard/backpack for overseas travel. My first impression is that this is a well thought out bag. When packing a bag for traveling, my thoughts go towards convenience and security. This bag has both. Let’s start with the front two zippered compartments. Zippered compartments in the front of a backpack can be a security nightmare when traveling. This one isn’t. One compartment is double zippered the other is single zippered. You can however secure all three zipper heads together with a single TSA approved cable lock! Which is fantastic. The front lowest compartment even has a secondary zippered compartment within it for added security of valuables. There is also a Velcro pocket at the back of the backpack which the manufacturer says “ Back pocket with Velcro can carry small rags at any time, keep the back clean”, which is a good point because my only pet peeve about this bag is that the wheels will touch your back when used as a backpack, so a wet wipe is always nice to have on hand, however it’s also a great security pouch when used as a backpack. It can hold a passport or some easily accessible cash that a pickpocket has no access to while you are walking thru crowds (like at the airport) with your backpack on. The top carrying handle is extremely well made and secure. The straps in the back have their ends nicely sewn so as to avoid fraying, which is a nice touch. I have gone over this bag with a fine toothed comb. All seams are sturdy and well constructed. Zippers all move freely and smoothly. The telescoping handle seems sturdy and is adjustable to two heights, also it does not protrude in the back when stowed away so the back of the backpack feels good when wearing it. All in all, I believe this to be a solid purchase for me and I am extremely happy with it. I’m sure it will be with me for a long time with lots of destinations planned for it.

Very sturdy and saved my back
Back in college I had a classes that required multiple books for each one and had my laptop too, because parking was far away I couldn't always switch out in between classes so I carried them all with me. My back was killing me and I couldn't find a book bag big enough. Found this and decided to give it a shot, worst case I could always return it for a refund but I was very surprised. It held all my books and had a space for my laptop, although I didn't use it because the laptop sleeve is in the very back and I was scared that if it fell over on its bacn the books would damage the laptop because they were big and heavy. It has multiple pockets and can be rolled behind you but also has straps that are tucked into the back pad that clip at the bottom so it can be worn as a normal backpack. It has a sturdy handle (not the one you use to pull it behind you) up top too so if you need to go up stairs or a step you can grab it and go. Its lasted a loong time and now i use it for light traveling or work. My only complaint is that I wish the pull behind handle was longer. I would find that it would sometimes catch on the back of my feet. Also I wish the wheels were rubber instead of plastic because they can be loud. I actually changed mine out for roller blade wheels and it made a big difference in drag and noise.

Perfect size!
I bought this bag to take on a 10 day trip to Europe. I took what I needed for about half of the time because I was able to do laundry about halfway through my trip. I really wanted something I could wheel as much as possible, but still had the option to carry when walking long distances or getting on and off congested transport. I also wanted a bag that would “count” as a carry on for my flights with British Airways, Air France, and Whizzair. This bag fit the sizing restrictions for all 3 airlines and I had no trouble loading it into the overhead bins. The bag rolled very smoothly in the various airports and train stations I travelled through and the wheels are still in great shape after 10 rigorous days of travel to 5 different cities. It did take some trial and error to get the strap length just right so they did not hurt my shoulders as the padding did leave a little bit to be desired, but I found a comfortable set up eventually. I did not use any packing cubes and I was able to pack a swimsuit, 6 pairs of socks, 6 boxers, 6 t-shirts, 4 pairs of shorts, and 3 pairs of jeans (I am 6’6,” so some pretty big pairs of jeans) all in the main compartment along with my quart size toiletry bag. In the compartment on top of the main one I put a pair of flip flops, a quart sized bag with electronics in it, a deflated, inflatable neck pillow, my iPad and my puffer jacket folded up into quarters along with a 25l soft backpack I used for day trips. I did not put much in the two smaller compartments on the front to prevent the possibility of pick pocketing as I carried this bag on public transport in some very busy cities. In the bottom compartment on the front I did put my passport inside the zipper pocket inside the compartment so it was packed behind 2 layers and I put my $5 sunglasses in the top outer compartment when I didn’t want them in my pocket. Overall, the size and weight of this bag worked perfectly for me and the wheels worked great! The handle felt sturdy and was long enough for me to pull even though I am pretty tall. Despite all I had packed, the bag was not bulging and was still pretty easy to zip up. I will be using this bag for all of my trips going forward as it still looks brand new! I even saw other travelers with this bag during my trip!

Great practical roll along bag for second year nursing students!
After busting through 2 luggage type roll-along bags (the wheels literally broke on both bags), I broke down and purchased a new one after reading several reviews. The previous wheels broke due to the massive weight of a second-year nursing student. The place I work has a lot of downtimes, so I needed a bag that would not only handle the amount of weight from books, but that could work as a complete student office bag so to speak as I take it to work every single day to utilize every second of downtime for studying. I need quick, easy access to my books and study material. I ordered this Matein roll along bag, the 17 inch roll-along bag, with free shipping. But even with that, I ordered my bag on Friday evening and received the bag Sunday afternoon (super fast shipping). This was a great relief because I thought I would have to struggle with taking my broken wheels bag for several days. But nope, it came super fast which I was very pleased about. Immediately after receiving the bag, I "put the bag together." I love the cup pocket on the side. It fits my insulated water cup nicely. There are 2 bigger compartments. I like to organize my classes by folders, so I organized the front smaller compartment with my nursing classes folders, and then put my big, honk'in nursing books in the middle compartment. I'll admit, it was a tight fit, but when I placed notebook paper in the side area, it all fit, surprisingly. LOL! It has a small zipper compartment in the front, top of the bag where I placed all my highlighters, colored pens, pens and pencils into for easy access. You could use it for your phone and headphones if you wanted to. There is a zipper area lower front that I put a calculator, stapler and headphones into. In the main compartment there is a padded area for laptops. I purchased this bag because I graduate from nursing school in September 2021 at which time I would like to do some traveling. So, I purchased this bag with that idea in mind. I believe size-wise this rolling along bag would be great and would fit as an overhead bag, so you wouldn't have to worry about checking in the bag. There is plenty of space with awesome pockets for traveling. I love that the roll-along handle zips inside if you use it as a backpack. And then the same goes with the backpack straps...there is a compartment that zips them in so you don't have to see them or mess with them when you don't need them (i.e. during nursing school when there is no way I'm using this as a backpack-shoulder killer-LOL!). I also love that the bag stands securely straight up and down (no constantly falling over). And all the compartments have easily accessible zippers on both sides (talk about time-saving). The handle seems great. It's kind of a squishy plastic that grips for comfortable hand grip and the wheels seem sturdy. The only downfall for me and the use of this bag is I wished it was bigger. But again, I bought it with that in mind because I really want to be able to get my money's worth out of it when I finish nursing school, and I think it will be an awesome travel bag. The only other thing is I wished it came in different colors and fabrics (like Jansport bags), but I wanted a sturdy roll along bag, so I chose this one instead. And hey, this one can be used for my girl or boy teenagers later for travel. All in all, 5 stars for this bag. I went ahead and purchased the 4-year warranty, but after seeing this bag, I do not anticipate using it. Seems VERY well made....strong zippers, handle and wheels. Very happy with this purchase!

Great Travel Backpack/Roller
This roller backpack works perfectly for my need. I’m able to pack a few clothes, my laptop and accessories. Fit easily under airline seats and rolls reasonably well.
