AmoenaWomen's Mona Molded Wire-Free Bra

Short band and short straps; size up and take to a tailor if needed
I can't stand underwire and dislike padding in bras, so I was very happy to find this Amoena bra a few years ago. The double layer of fabric in the cups is soft and smooth, and the band is secure and comfortable if you find the right size. Sizing requires trial and error; I went from my usual 34 to 36 for the band, and from my usual B cup to an A cup in the Amoena. The straps are so short that I had to take the bras to a tailor to add 3 inches of elastic to each strap! The price of the bra is modest on Amazon, so the tailoring was still worth it considering the comfort and good fit of the rest of the bra.

Was extremely disappointed when I found out Amoena no longer made this particular bra and was thrilled to find out that Amazon still carries them (in limited sizes and quantities). I had purchased numerous other mastectomy bras since I'd bought the Mona many years ago but have not been satisfied w/ the newer styles (very uncomfortable, doesn't fit properly, could wear them for just a few hrs., etc.). In fact, I have approximately 12 bras which have been worn only a few times and are practically brand new. Needless to say, I will treasure this bra for as long as they last. (I still have 5 of them which are worn out but nevertheless are still my favorite.) They're very comfortable and fit my body shape very well; they may not be the best looking bras but my goal is comfort and that's what they offer.

Sizing is off
Third bra I purchased. I’m a 34C and the cups were huge ( with prosthetics) so I went down to a 34B still way too big. Finally a 34A cup fit . Comfortable bra but not too pretty. The only reason I took one star away was the fit but now that I have a good fit I’ll buy another.

Great comfy fit.
This is a great fitting bra. The pocket opening is at the top to keep your prosthetic safe and secure! Constructed of a little heavier material. Not fancy but a great everyday bra.

Not Molded!
The description of this bra isn't correct. It is not MOLDED so the cups are very wrinkled with extra, flimsy material.

Comfortable, good-looking bra for prosthesis.
This is a great bra with really comfortable straps. They are just slightly wider at the shoulders and padded which makes for a great fit and improves the comfort over many others. I already have this bra in purple and love that color as well. The only draw back, which I'm hoping was an aberration in the purple one, is that the material is starting to break down right next to the seamline in the front middle. Sorry I don't have a picture - it hasn't hurt the fit/comfort so far so I was happy to find another.

Very Comfy! Way too pricey, currently.
What I like most about this bra is that it isn't over-constructed. If you want the cups "constructed", buy some inserts. It has great pockets for that - easy to take in, easy to take out. It is a very comfortable bra and stays in place. However, I was going to order one or two more, but just realized the price is $50+ dollars. A far cry the $12.99 I paid 2 days ago. No bra is worth $50.00!

Soft and comfortable, but the band runs small. Order up at least a size.
I am four weeks out from breast reduction surgery (went from a G cup to what is looking to be a D cup) and am slowly rebuilding my bra collection. Underwires are still a long way off, so finding a supportive soft cup is my Holy Grail of the moment. This one fits the bill, hopefully. I just received it and haven't had a chance to wear it yet, but I liked the way it felt and looked when I tried it on.I marked this "Fit as expected", but that's because I tried this bra on in a specialty store before ordering one, so I knew what to get.. This bra runs small in the band. I'm a pretty solid 36 band (I measure as a 35" under bust), but I could barely get a 36 D fastened. I went up to a 38D and it fit perfectly on the first hook. The material is soft and feels good against my still healing incisions: even the stays on the sides don't hurt, which is awesome, because I'm still very sore on my sides. I've tried it on under some shirts that tend to cling a bit and the seams don't show, unlike the Wacoal Awareness Soft Cup Bra. I haven't tried it with any lower cut tops yet, so I'm not sure if it might be cut too high for those or not.As first impressions go, I'm a fan. Just make sure you get it properly fitted.
