Cheap - not working
Thought I was ordering a Haveahart product... This is cheaply made, bent out of shape and will not work as a result. Returned. Go with the Haveahart product.10/8 Updating my review... After bending and reshaping various parts I have it working. Unit works well but a consumer should not have to do this with a new purchase. Caught and released 4 criters this far. If you purchase have tools ready to "adjust" the trap.... Oh instructions would be nice too.

Effective and Easy to Use
Purchased this trap to catch and relocate squirrels. It is easy to operate. The trigger mechanism is easy to set and will not falsely activate despite how simple it is and how it looks.I did have to file the edges of the door down as they were rough and would not slide smoothly (which is why I gave it 4 stars). And you probably want to avoid leaving the trap out in the rain as the door won't slide well when wet.

Didn't catch anything.
I bought these to catch squirrels that keep eating fruit from my tree.I wrapped the fruit up on the tree with paper and set the trap on the floor with peanut butter and sunflower seeds.Clearly, it did not work (see photo).Harvest destroyed. Trap shut but empty. There's a little lever on the outside that you use to set the trap. You can also set it off that way. I think it's too sensitive. The critter probably shut it from the outside.

Squirrels be gone, hooyah!
This trap works great for squirrels. We had four pesky ones in our backyard and we caught three of them and relocated them to a happy park miles away in just a few hours. We used peanuts in the shell and just a little peanut butter as bait. We put two peanuts outside the trap, one just inside the door to give them confidence, and one on the trigger. Be sure to wire the peanut to the trigger. Super happy with this. It is really easy to use and it works great.UPDATE 6/30/19 - to date we've captured 13 squirrels. All released healthy and happy at a nearby park a few miles away. I've seen some reviews talk about the trap being a folding trap. The one we got is not a folding trap. I've also seen some complaints about the door not sliding down properly. You do have to make sure the door is straight when you walk away. Mine got a little sticky once and I used a little graphite in the little plastic channels to help it slide better. Worked like a charm. Also went to just two peanuts, one inside the trap on the trigger and one just inside the door. Both with peanut butter on them. They can smell the peanut butter from a long ways away and they can't resist. Happy hunting!

Have-a-change-of-hart trap.
2 pieces. Door would occasionally hang up or come down on a windy day. A 2 piece trip rod that doesn't line up well or with consistency. One would stick. One was a hair trigger. 2 worked OK. The solid top was good. Kept bait dry. I replaced these thru Amazon with 3 one piece, one door trap system that has not failed to work. Also the trigger is located on the top of trap and sets easily every time. These are keepers.

PUT A BRICK ON TOP
I caught 7 squirrels with this trap in just a few days and took them to a location several miles away. I put a brick on top of the trap as some squirrels knocked it over as they investigated it. Its a bit tricky to set the trap door but I am 74 years old and figured it out. I used peanut butter but got instant capture when I threw in a few cashew nuts also. The squirrels couldn't resist the nuts.

Sturdy and well built.
This item arrived on time and was pretty much as expected. It took a few minutes to figure out how to set the trap, the directions were a little lacking in that regard. Unfortunately for this review, but fortunately for me, a hawk took care of my problem squirrel so I haven't had to use this yet. However, based on what I can see, it should do what I needed it to do.

Too sensitive
I used the trap outdoors and wind or rain would set it off. I wrapped the trigger with cloth duck tape and that created enough friction that I caught 5 Columbian ground squirrels before they learned to defeat the trap by bumping the side of the trap. this sprung the trap pushed it aside so the bait was available. I tried to fix this by anchoring the trap but they could still trigger the trap.
