Metrokane- Rabbit Corkscrew with Aerator,Red

Product arrived as described. The item is made of metal and seems well built. Hopefully we won't have to use the extra screw that came with the package. I would have given it a 5 star had it come with some type of base that would hold the different pieces rather than having to put the items in a drawer.I don't think the pouring piece adds anything. I tried it, but it just makes the wine come out of the bottle slower. This might be of use to someone, but I found no value in it.

The color is fantastic. I've been using Rabbit openers for years. easy to get out even the toughest corks, and when worn, the screw is easy to replace. My last one finally broke after 4 years of almost daily use. Wouldn't use anything else. Enclosed aerator and foil cutter also do the job as advertised.

The Metrokane Rabbit Corkscrew broke beyond repair after less than a year's use. Otherwise it mostly worked pretty well removing corks, but occasionally the screw would just spin on top of the cork and I had to use an older opener to drive the screw into the cork. Sometimes after opening getting the cork off of the opener could be difficult (too tight on the screw) - I had to use pliers to remove the cork. After breaking, as a replacement I bought a Pyora battery-operated opener. I've been using that for about a month now, and so far it's working fine by all measures; but whether it will last for years unknown.

I have a hard time using it, getting it on the top of the wine bottle in the correct position. But my husband has not issues at all. So I just have him open all of the wine. I do like the aerator. It's a nice addition.

We threw the box away, but the Rabbit itself goes through corks like a knife through butter and it's attractive enough to leave out, anyway. The foil opener works great. The aerator works, but it is so so SO slow.... we usually skip it.

The opener is great, I would buy again. The two accessories, though?? The decapper is not great, not very sharp and slips off the top too easy. The aerator works ok, but tends to dribble a little too much.

We wore out our original Rabbit Corkscrew after many years of faithful service. We ordered another one expecting that we would be getting a corkscrew that would be the equal of the one we had. Boy were we wrong. The new one is smaller, lighter and is made of plastic rather than metal. The new one bends as you attempt to open a wine bottle. It will be just a madder of time before it breaks. I cannot express how unhappy we are with this new Rabbit Corkscrew. I really hope that some day, in the near future, the original Rabbit Corkscrew will be brought back to the market.

The airating pourer fell apart the first use but we dugg the tube out of the wine bottle when it was empty and it still works. Otherwise my mom seems happy with it.
