Will this work on book cloth?

I am not an expert but this product will make cloth water resistant so it should make book cloth water resistant.. I have never tried it but it might be worth a try. Penelope Blechstein

Your question is one I have never thought to ask, but it is a great question! I intend to do some research on my own by calling or emailing (keep reading for the phone # & web site). All I know for sure is the can states this: "CONTAINS: Isobutane, 1,1-Difluoroethane", both of which might be petroleum-based...maybe! but I am not a chemist so don't buy my petroleum-based guess. However, do follow all the precautions on the can...some would never pay attention to warnings on purchased products, but I do because I value my health. Scotchgard is definitely chemically-based; there would not be precautions on the can if it was completely safe to use. If you have a concern with Teflon (or any other concerns), I suggest you call the number on the can -- 1.800.367.7683. Or go to their web site -- www.scotchgard.com and direct your concern to their experts.Does anyone else have info on the chemical make-up of Scotchgard?????

Will Scotchgard work on white shirt collars to prevent ring-around-the-collar from becoming too deeply embedded to respond to normal laundering?

No idea about whether scotch guard will work but to remove that ring around the collar, mix 3 parts hydrogen peroxide with 1 part of the original Dawn dish liquid in a spray bottle and pretreat the ring around the collar. Works on colors too, just test darker colors before a liberal application.
