Great little oven and wonderful burners on top, for camping or anywhere!
Why I bought it: I needed a small oven that is portable, one to a house porch, then for my Casita camper, which has only burners inside. I do a lot of weekend car/tent camping also, and use little Coleman cannisters for my Buddy heater, and thought I could use them on this oven as well. Its a great thing to be able to fry chicken outside, not stink up the house too. What else did I get: Ordered the handy carry bag, which has well places handles on each side, is black nylon, and well padded to protect the oven This is a good idea, and makes it so easy to transport. Did it work well? I really like the burners. The knobs light the stove and burners, so no matches needed. I tried cooking water for coffee in a teakettle, first, to learn how everything worked, then a batch of eggs on top, and noted how even and fine the flames are, and adjust easily, and cleans up easily too. Much easier not to burn pancakes etc, when one can adjust the flames so finely. Beats many camping stoves any day. The burner lid is a wind screen, and is very effective, and stands up with the little metal clips easily Next, lit the oven, which has a pilot light that comes on the bottom, which the glass door makes it easy to spot, once lit, adjust the temp knob. I made orange sweet rolls from the can for my camping crew, which turned out just right. It looks like smaller roasting pans or brownie pans, will fit better in this unit. This little oven should bake a smallish chicken, or two game hens, etc no problem.. There are two removable wire shelves inside, nice and sturdy. I believe with some adjustment, I can cook a duck in it. The thermometer is outside the oven on the control panel. I have not tested, but if you need exact oven temp control, just get your own for inside the oven. Although it takes several minutes longer to heat up than a indoor oven, once heated seemed to maintain the temperature well. No odors, etc. A handy grabber handle is attached is on the ovens handle, lest one's forgets, and gets burned. With this one, not a chance. If one is needing it, a simple egg timer would help. I kept an eye on it, because I had it under a large screen room to keep it out of the rain. It did not overheat my LL bean screen shelter ceiling however, and I kept it under the center peak, on the picnic table, away from the sides. Would I purchase this again: Yes! All in all, sturdy, good burners and stove, and great for many applications, like brownies, breads, smaller pizzas, cornbreads, muffins, and will greatly increase what I usually can cook while camping, especially on wet days. where fire cooking is too difficult. Happy I bought it. Keep the bubble rap around the regulator, you can re-wrap it so it doesn't bang around inside the stove while travelling.:)

Best buy for the Christmas season.
Our off grid cabin didn't have a stove or oven. The 2 burner stove top we use is great but no oven. We got this and it's filled a void for us. This time of year (Christmas) my wife loves making cookies. This oven works great. The thermometer isn't great but if you keep an eye on it, we can manage. Probably would have bought the thermostatically controlled one in hindsight. Good price, easy to use and great design. We love it! 12/2025 So, it's been a year since we got this oven. We've been using it some for reheats and frozen meals or pizza. Does the job. I couldn't get the oven to heat up recently so I took the propane line to the burner off and cleaned out some flakes of dirt and made sure the orifice was open. Put it back together and we baked a pumpkin pie, fried bacon on the stove for the baked beans, then baked the beans. Everything turned out great. When baking a pie, especially one that takes over an hour, you have to monitor it closely and turn it a few times but it's worth the effort.

This is an awesome oven. I own a small private school on an island in which we serve school lunches. My kitchen is a screened in, outdoor cookhouse that is exposed to extreme salt air at all times. This oven is used on a daily basis for school and our home cooking as well. My first oven issue was due to the bottom of the oven rusted and created holes in the unit. Everything was still functional and working well after three years of use. The school cook asked if she could have my old one because I bought a new one for the school. Her husband took it home and welded a new bottom to it. It's still working to this day beautifully. This oven is inexpensive to use as well. A 20 lb tank of propane will last 3 to 4 months. It is large enough to cook a decent size turkey or baked ham. Your 11x13 baking pan fits beautifully in it. You are able to cook casserole dishes and bake cakes with no issues at all. The lowest setting is best for cakes, cookies, and breads easy to burn stuff. You just have to adjust the cooking time for a little longer. I use the highest setting when baking casseroles, turkey, hams, and items that take longer to cook... I will never own a full size oven again. I literally can take my oven anywhere with me easily due to it's size and portabilty. The top burners are awesome as well.

Great camping stove & oven - Camp Chef
As we read in reviews before we purchased the stove/oven, the oven temperature was hard to control. Now that we've used the oven a few times to bake a roast, make muffins, biscuits, cinnamon rolls all while camping in the north woods, we learned we needed to crack the door open to get the proper temperature. We did purchase an oven thermometer that we place on the second shelf in the front of the oven (the built-in thermometer registers the temp in the back and hottest part of the oven). The thermometer in the front gives a more accurate reading of the actual oven temperature. Anyone willing to practice a few times will do fine with the oven. Those expecting the oven to mimic the one in your kitchen without any adjustments will be disappointed. We now love it and the muffins, biscuits, and rolls came out just like I bake in my kitchen. The stove burners gave a hot, consistent heat that made everything we cooked turn out very good. We used both the 10 inch cast iron chicken frier and a 12 inch cast iron skillet at the same time without difficulty. The two burners were perfect for our rectangular griddle and made perfect pancakes and grilled sandwiches. We purchased the cover which made transporting and storing it very easy and it is light weight enough that it doesn't take a strong man to carry it. We also purchased a 10 foot long LP hose that hooks to a 20 # tank and the regulator on the stove. This allows you to place the tank far enough away from the stove. It is a very sharp looking piece of equipment, too. The reason we're giving 4 stars is because of the temperature control. We love our stove/oven and highly recommend it. P.S. Amazon had the best price we'd seen (a big savings) and were very prompt in processing our order and shipping it.

Simply the best of the best
I purchased my Camp Chef in 2015 and have taken it out over 3 years of camping in the high Sierras many times now. It works beautifully with my portable Coleman camp kitchen and sets up in minutes. I've cooked entire meals for 3 people on it with biscuits baking in the oven while making burgers on a skillet and boiling asparagus on a second burner. It simply works and the form factor makes this a reasonably sized camp cooking option for those camping outings that demand a bigger cooking solution. I use this several times yearly and don't even think of camping without it unless I'm going into deeper country where taking it isn't feasible. The quality of the Camp Chef is top notch and it feels like cooking on a gas stove at home. It is painted like a home stove and the controls couldn't be simpler and they feel like quality made valves for controlling the gas flow to the burners. I like the thermometer for the oven and the piezoelectric start is great. Just keep everything clean and pack it away in it's original cardboard box and you are good to go for the next time around. I tend to use the smaller bottled fuel for mine, but may go for the adapter to run it off a 5 gallon tank someday. All in all, I've give this a10 out of 5 if I could - I often give products 5 star reviews if they are good quality, but this oven/stove combo is just so well built, I'd love to give it a greater rating if I could. Highly recommend this to all.

Perfect Camping Cooking Tool
This was the best camping purchase I personally have made. I was worried it would be close to a $250 cookie and cinnamon roll machine but our first trip out with it we used it for every meal. The small green propane tanks give you about 5 hours of full blast oven cooking. Pros: It cooked fast on the stove top. It fits a 13x9 pan which is plenty big. If you look in my pictures you’ll see enchiladas in the pan. We took the rack out and the handles of the pan slid into the slots for the rack. Perfect size. The oven doesn’t have a broiler but it cooks everything we’ve tried evenly. It gets hot enough to cook even in below freezing temps. Some reviews said it stalls at 350-400 degrees but we had to watch it and turn it down even in 30 degree weather when it would start creeping above those temps. Cons: It’s a little heavy for my wife but she can still lift it. On a normal height camping table the burners are a little too high for my wife who is 5’3 but she still can do it. Those are the only cons which aren’t bad at all. If you are in the fence about this thing just get it. You won’t regret it. When turning on stove or oven hold turn the knob and hold it for a few seconds to get propane to come through the line so it will stay lit. It might spark and go out at first a few times but once you get propane in the lines it stays lit. Happy camping!

Updated review after 5 years - If you want to cook outside, you WANT this product
UPDATE- After about 5 years the oven no longer stays lit. I don't blame the oven, there is probably an easy enough remedy but after 5 years of use it was starting to get nasty from neglect. We decided to replace it with a new one. They made some enhancements, it's just a higher quality product that seems to have addressed the shortcomings that made this originally a 4 star review. I have bumped it up to 5 stars. Unfortunately the second unit came missing the regulator. It's not a huge deal because the old one fit, but I did contact the company and request the missing regulator because I might want to refurbish the old oven in which case I will need the missing regulator. Hopefully they agree because otherwise I have to ship the entire unit back for replacement. Original review: We live in Hawaii and do most of our cooking outside. We bought this oven so that we could bake things without heating up the house. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly on this oven: The Good: It bakes things well. It delivers a fairly even heat and uses very little propane. I was really surprised at how energy efficient this unit is. Contrary to other reviews I have read, I find that the range burners deliver a lot of heat. And it is the perfect size and heat distribution to use the two range burners (set on lowest setting) with a cast iron griddle to make the perfect pancakes. The range burners have self ignited every time I have needed to use them. We have cooked two Cornish game hens in the oven with plenty of room to spare. You can cook a large chicken in this thing. No, it won't fit a turkey, but that's not the point of this oven. The meat comes out moist, tender, and juicy. More so than if we cook using our electric oven. The bad: They fixed all the things that was in this paragraph, so I deleted it. The ugly: There isn't anything ugly about this oven. After it arrived from Amazon I slid it out of the box and my wife said "Wow, it's beautiful." We love the look of stainless steel appliances and this oven has a sleek look using black on stainless. I would have preferred a brushed stainless that matches all our other appliances but the shiny chrome look is almost as good. To summarize, although self described by the manufacturer as a "camp" or "emergency" oven, we find it works well and looks great for everyday use. I wish it came with a hose adapter to use it on a regular propane tank, but I understand that they try to keep the cost down for people that may not want to use it.

Camp Chef HRL replacement hose and regulator won't work with this stove
The Camp Chef 2-burner Stove and Oven (in a single unit) appears to be very well made (I bought one in my Amazon order but haven't used it yet per the following) and this is not a review of the stove itself. Amazon currently shows it as frequently bought with the "Camp Chef HRL replacement hose and regulator, 1 PSI". The picture of the latter item leads one to believe that it functions as a hose adaptor for a common bulk tank of propane (which come in varying sizes). Unfortunately this hose is not made for this model Camp Chef stove. The stove-end will not fit the fitting on the stove nor is a regulator required on the other end since the stove comes with one (known only when one opens the box). I'm returning the hose and I should say that Amazon's return procedures are quite streamlined. The regulator that comes with the stove screws onto a stove-fitting through a hole in the back of the stove, and a small one-pound bottle of propane screws into the other side of the regulator. The correct bulk tank hose adaptor made by Camp Chef is called "Disposable Bottle Regulator Bulk Tank Hose Adapter" (Camp Chef's item number is HRDSP) and the stove-end screws into the stove's regulator in place of the one-pound bottle. Of course there is no regulator on the bulk-propane-tank-end of the hose and that end just screws directly onto the bulk propane tank. As of this writing, Amazon does not sell this hose. One can only speculate as to why the manufacturer didn't include one with the stove. It would have been much more convenient since I suspect the overwhelming majority of users do not restrict themselves to the one-pound bottles (recognized by the manufacturer since the box has printed on it that a 20 lb tank lasts 50 hours and the 1 lb bottle lasts 7 hours, along with a picture of the correct adapter hose). Also, the indented hand-holds shown on the sides of the stove in the photo that is currently on Amazon's site are no longer on the stove as presently manufactured. The stove is portable, but not light and there is no convenient way to pick it up and carry it. I would suggest springing for the carry case (sold by Amazon) if you plan on carrying it a lot. The stove weighs 35 pounds and is approximately 21"wide, 12"deep and 17.5"high. Further, it's difficult to tell from the current photo, but the parts of the stove that look white are stainless steel. The burners are brass.

Just what I have been looking for! My trailer had no oven.
I waited to write the review until I actually tested the product. We just came home from camping and I must say - the camp oven was a huge success. I baked chicken breast the first night - shake n baked the chicken, placed on a little olive oil and covered with tin foil. I generally cook the chicken in a hot oven - so I put on high for 30 mins and it turned out perfect, juicy, tender and crispy. I let the stove cool to 400 and had pre-made some peanut butter/chocolate chip cookie dough at home - before we left and kept in the fridge. Baked those for about 9 mins - you can just smell when they are ready. DELISH! What a hit! I also boiled and then fried perogies on the top burners. Stove is great quality, burners work well. Only issue that I found was that while I am 5'5 putting the stove on the picnic table was a little high for me when using the upper burners. I had brought a standing stool for my camper - so I used that and problem solved. Camp Oven cools quickly so you can put back in storage when done eating. We also bought the cover and it's worth the money to protect and keep your stove nice. All around excellent purchase and would highly recommend! Even my husband who rolled his eyes when he saw it arrive from Amazon (surprise) - changed his mind and loved it while camping.
