Pyle Hydra Marine Amplifier - Upgraded Elite Series 400 Watt 4 Channel Audio Amplifier, Waterproof, 12 volt, Dual MOSFET Power Supply, GAIN Level Controls, RCA Stereo Input & LED Indicator - PLMRA400

This is a great addition to my Jensen MSR3007 in a SeaDoo jet boat. I am not sure why many folks are getting poor quality or results, but if you know what you are doing, this unit works as advertized. I made up a pair of Molex connectors so that I can either insert or bypass the amplifier using the factory harness when not using the wake tower and wake tower speakers (Boss Marine MRWT69W 6x9" 4-way speakers), or when I do not want to consume more battery power while out on the water. I also replaced the original Jensen speakers in the boat with Boss Marine MR60W 6.5" 2-way speakers. I first tested the 4 speakers without the amp and thought that I would not need the amp because the sound was adequate. However, after testing with the amp, I changed my mind. The sound is very clear and _much louder than with the Jensen 3007 alone. I used the 4 low impedance inputs connected to the speaker outputs of the Jensen to maintain front/rear fader control and adjusted the gain in accordance with the installation instructions. Also added the Kinivo BT adapter for audio streaming and telephone calls from my Android cell phone. Finally, will be adding the wired MWR100 remote control for the Jensen unit on the swim platform very soon. Voila... a totally fantastic upgrade for the boat, all ordered through Amazon. I would recommend a professional installation if one is not 100% confident in their technical ability. I can also offer advice if anyone needs it via [email protected]. Mark

Car Option! I was looking for a replace amp for my Truck for stero speakers. Took a chance on this and it works perfectly for my 10s. Easy to install and works. Good investment.

Hooked up on my boat, worked one time, my next trip out the fuse blew, bought new fuses and messed with it for several hours, reconnecting everything, ensuring proper setup, kept blowing fuses. This isn't my first amp, never had issues with other brands. Also the one time the amp worked, it didn't produce much power, I would say no where near the 400 it states...so one trip less than 400 amps, 2nd trip no Amps and no music. Wish I could return but it's been 40 days, I'm shocked it broke so fast, my gut told me to spend a little more and I wish I eould have, now my new amp is costing me an extra $40 due to the waste on this amp! Pretty impressed with this inexpensive little amp. I AM a bit of an audiophile, I like CLEAN music and sometimes like it LOUD without distortion. I have a competition quality $4000 stereo consisting of all Phoenix Gold amps three in fact, two Kicker Solobaric 12's, Kicker surround speakers for the rest of my system and it all puts together a CLEAN very LOUD awesome stereo that sets off car alarms and can be heard for blocks and blocks if I want it to be, but unfortunately none of that is waterproof for my Jeep. I figured I'd give this little guy a try, it is running two 6.5 Sony marine speakers in the doors and the Infinity Reference 6912m 6 x 9-Inch 300-Watt High-Performance 2-Way Marine Loudspeaker (Pair) in the back ( purchased here on Amazon as well ) and sounds pretty darn good, To tell you the truth for less than a Grant, this IS a really impressive little amplifier. I'm going to get the two channel amp as well and a couple of inexpensive Pyle 10's to add some MORE bass to the Jeep ( really can't believe how cheap this stuff is, I always considered pyle as just that a PILE of China *%*#& but I admit I was wrong,I have had nothing but GOOD experiences with this low cost audio ). It is great to have a good sounding stereo in my Jeep, that I don't really have to worry about it getting wet or worrying to much about being a target for thieves, most folks consider Pyle products the way I USED to. PLUS, MY ENTIRE SYSTEM COST LEES THAN ONE SPEAKER IN MY PREVIOUS SETUP - THAT ALONE IS AWESOME

Ordered this amp for my jeep and installed along with a new radio. The amp had an issue after a couple of hours and stopped working. Put in for a replacement and got the replacement in two days (faster shipping than the original). I haven't reinstalled yet since I wired up directly to radio after issue with amp but I have to say there was no issue with replacing item. I would order again because while the original worked it was as advertised.

I never planned on using this amplifier for marine use, for the price, and being 4-channel, I wanted to use to power my car's main speakers. For this use, it's awesome, I can get my speakers beyond the stereo head unit's RPM rating of 35watt per speaker, close to the speaker's RMS rating of 50watt. This in turn makes it so I don't have to buy a newer stereo head unit to get better or louder sound. This will also make the bass come out better. The only complicated part is you have to have your stereo unit go to this amplifier's input, and then the outputs going to your speakers. I used quick disconnects for this purpose so if I needed to take out the amplifier I could still get my radio hooked up quickly. This all is time consuming, so expect this not to be a plug and play experience for the average person. Concerning the waterproof part, for my purpose this part doesn't affect me, but the product's description says "waterproof" because of it's marine usage. I want to take note about what the instruction manual says about this; it mentions if the unit gets wet or damp, to IMMEDIATELY wipe and dry it off... that doesn't sound waterproof to me, more so, the speaker connectors are like any other speaker connections where you screw on the wire, and are exposed to any weather conditions if the unit is not properly mounted in a waterproof location, if somehow you could a decent amount of water spilled on this area, it will most likely bridge and short out, but that's just my 2 cents.

Works great

You get what you pay for and this was priced well for what it does. If you have a decent quality deck, you're built in amp will be better than this. Thin sound all the way around. But, if you're using on a boat and driving mids and highs, which is all you're going to hear anyways unless your engine is off, then you'll be fine. The price makes it less painful if it gets soaked or stolen and it does the job on the water. Don't think it will drive subs, simply doesn't have the right frequency punch or power to bump a 6 inch much less 6x9's or subs. That being said it's great for expanding your system to add more speakers without lowering your ohm load on your existing system and getting full even sound around your boat. Want better sound, spend more money....just like it's been for the last 70 years.

Funciona genial , 4 canales , calidad de sonido suficiente , lo unico que se hecha en falta es filtro de paso bajo/alto que no tiene , ojo con esto , tengo conectados una pareja de vias separadas de 60w rms y un sub de 200w rms y muy contento con el resultado.

Le produit est sans doute bon... Mais c'est un à priori car je ne l'ai pas encore installé. Cependant je préfère prévenir les potentiels clients que s'ils désirent à un moment obtenir de l'aide pour certaines connexions répertoriées ou pas, qu'ils s'adressent plutôt à un électroniciens audiophile qu'aux services de Pyle. En effet c'est un vrai parcours du combatant que de pouvoir obtenir de l'aide chez eux. Et non pas par l'excès de demandes qui obligent à une attente prolongée, mais parce que primo ça commence en français lorsque vous demandez la traduction par votre navigateur puis tout à coup ça redevient de l'américain au niveau des formulaires et il vous est demandé tout ce que vous pouvez déclarer à votre sujet, téléphone et autre. Et ceci sans aucune certitude d'obtenir l'info que vous recherchez. Ce qui fait que vous les avez gratifié de tout ce qui compte à vos yeux et dont ils se repaissent . Merci qui ? Merci PYLE. Au cas où quelqu'un pourrait me renseigner, je dépose un petit schéma en demandant si les connexions que j'ai dessinées sont correctes et si une ou des indications supplémentaires pour être plus claire sont souhaitables. Absolutely love this unit. Sound is excellent for my application running 4 speakers in a wake board tower on my boat. Love the white as it does not heat up in the sun and the layout of the unit is proper. If you need a good basic setup and were debating trying out Pyle give it a shot. Its good solid product.

Good product especially for the price. It is loud enough for my purpose. Downside is that there is no tone adjustment only gain. So your source needs to be properly equalized. I mistakenly connected to 18v so it smoked hahaha. But still it works. Great purchase indeed.
