It's a good fan, but if you're looking for a tornado-creating fan, this is not it.
Living in Southern California means dealing with the katabatic winds known as the Santa Anas. Generally, they begin in the late summer and last into early fall, and - to put it mildly - they suck! Now, it's only mid-June as I write this, but within a couple weeks the temperature will start to climb into the 80°s, by the end of July we'll be in the 90°s, August & September will see us in the 100°s. Let me tell you... I. Hate. Being. Hot. Especially at night when I'm trying to sleep. As it happens, my old fan took a dump last week, which sucked but at least at least it wasn't 90-fricken-degrees outside, and I had ample time to replace it. This one was very reasonably priced ($38) and I liked that it has a remote control, my old one didn't. This fan was easy to assemble and works well. At speed level 1, it's very quiet. At level 2, it's a still-pleasant white noise. At 3, it's more noticeable, but not so much that it bothers me. Thing is, it's less powerful than my old fan. It's level 3 (highest setting) is equivalent to level 2 on the old one. Thankfully, I also own one of those big round floor fans that blow just shy of tornado-creating, so I'm prepared. Overall, this tower fan looks good and works well, I love the remote control and am glad I paid less than what I would have at Target or Home Depot. I just wish it had a better blow. Yes, feel free to finish that off with, "That's what he said."

Great directional cooling fan
This is not an air conditioner. I want everyone to understand that if you live in a hot humid state (like I do) and you don't have central air in your house (like I do) then you need to get a window ac unit to actually cool down a room. That being said, this a great directional cooling fan! I love this thing. I also bought the Lasko space heater for the cold winters so I recommend this brand to all my friends and family. I prefer the tower fan to pedestal fan because pedestals just circulate existing air, where towers blow out cooler air and are much more directional when you plan on sitting or laying for long periods. I use this fan mostly during the day when I plan on being at my desk for several hours. I will turn my ac unit up a few degrees so it's not running as often and I turn this fan on to keep me cool if I get too warm. The remote control is easy to use and it has a 1-7 hour timer, 3 fan speeds, and oscillation. The lowest speed is pretty quiet but the highest speed has a slight humming noise but it's much more quiet than my window ac unit. I use it while I sleep sometimes too when the heat and humidity is insane and it definitely helps me sleep.

LOVE LASKO TOWER FANS!
This is my 4th Lasko tower fan I’ve bought. I have two bigger and now two of the smaller fans. The air flow is wonderful, they are very easy to use, they are very quiet, and they keep my house cool so I don’t always have to run the AC.All four are working great. My home is made up of individual rooms, if it were an open plan I wouldn’t need four of them.

I really like this fan but wish it had an auto shut off feature when tipped over.
I bought this fan in the cooler months and forgot about it until recently. I try not to turn on air conditioning until I really, really have to but I do like some cool air circulating when it gets warm in the house. I pulled out this fan a week ago and I love it. You have to put the bottom part together which takes a minute and then you're all set. You can use the remote control but I don't. The fan is tall and lean, not like those huge wind tunnel fans that take up a lot of space. You can oscillate the air or keep it steady, there are three settings for air flow, and there is a timer which works wonders when you want to just leave the fan on for an hour or two and have it turn off. The air it puts out is good. Not wind tunnel good but nice for warm days or evenings. The sound is like a fan. It isn't super quiet but it isn't any louder than any other fan I have had. I like the sound of fans at night so I am not upset that it sounds like a fan!I just wish that this were just a little better made. While everything works, it feels a bit flimsy. It also does not have an automatic shut off feature when it tips over or falls and I really wish it did. I have pets and this is not the most sturdy fan. My cat ran by it and brushed against it and the fan tipped over. It didn't stop working and I wish it had.Other than that, I love this fan compared to the round ones. It takes up much less space and has some features many others don't. It works as it is supposed to with or without the remote. I want to buy another one but the price went way up since I bought the one I have. I'm not sure it is worth nearly $50.00. I paid $29.00. I will watch for a drop in price then snatch another one up. It's not going to blow you away but it will keep you cool when the room you are in is too warm for comfort.

Lasko tower fan
I absolutely love this tower fan. I'm familiar with the brand name Lasko for many years now and with this purchase they still put out quality fans. Assembling the base was a bit tricky so I had to get some help so one person could hold the tower and the other make sure the base was on correctly and screwed in. Makes things so much easier. Now this fan will not freeze you out like an AC or some big fans will. If I were to guess I would have to say the highest setting on this tower would be medium or medium/low on bigger fans or towers and that works great for me. I have it in my living room/office/craft area and the high setting works just great for me while I'm at my desk or in my recliner especially when I put it on oscillating. The remote works great though I'll admit I haven't used the timer yet. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase. Also the noise level is great. If it weren't for feeling the cold air on me I forget it's on.
