2 Way Performance Teknique ICBN 7071
I returned this product because the installation instruction manual few wiring layout do not match with the printed layout on the back of actual unit. Also the tech support does not speak English well, Therefore, you're s*** out of luck if you need tech support. 3 stars is very generous consider selling something in the US without tech support or hiring someone paying minimum wage, is sucks.A month later I bought the same unit on eBay, because of the unbeatable price, I took my chance and got it. I did everything myself without any support. Damn, am I good or what...?The unit I bought on eBay somehow the printed wiring layout of installation manual match with the layout on the back of unit. Go figure!!!!Anyway, I installed this unit on my 2001 VW Passat GLX, stick shift. It works great, the operating distance is deep. Here are important few tips when wiring this unit.1) Make sure connect the tach wire to Multicoil, not on fuel injector wire.2) After verify that you connect everything correctly but the unit would not start. Here is what you will need to do, this step does not listed in the installation manual. I found this out myself, again this step is related to my car stick shift. If you have the same car as mine than I will show you how to wire everything.3) If the instruction in the manual does not work, here is what you will need to do to engage your remote engine start.Turn on engine off course, then step on brake and apply emergency brake, now press the star button (trunk) on the remote. The display on the remote should has an icon indicate smoke. Now remove car key, engine should be running until you open and close driver door.4) Now lock your car and remote start, it should start up.

Really a great car alarm here
Really a great car alarm here. Have been using it since January, 2011, and love it so much I am back to pick up another one for a friend's car. The remotes look and feel cheap but what can you expect at this GREAT price. The only complaint I've ever had would be that the battery cover sometimes comes loose from moving around in my pocket. There is a latch that locks it in place but sometime it manages to unlatch itself. Other than that, zero complaints what so ever. Seriously the piece of mind that a 2-way unit gives is worth it's price in gold. I arm my car and then leave the remote next to my alarm clock every night. AMAZING confidence and relaxation from this. In my opinion I think the range is what should be expected. I've used many 1-way car alarms over the years and this one DEFINITELY has a far better range, but come on people it's not a satellite phn, it has it's limits. I have my antenna mounted high up on my driver's side B-pillar and if I know I'm parking far away then I'll position my vehicle so the driver's side is facing the building I'm in. There is a status update button you can press that will query the system, and it works in movie theaters, parking garage structures, within Target and Wal-Marts, you name it. The only time it doesn't work is when I'm more than a block away which in my opinion is a more than acceptable range. Get this unit. It is SO worth the price to save your investment and property!

sorry
I am already having trouble with the remotes and the car. The doors won't open the car won't start and it was just installed 2 days ago. I think one of the batteries in the blue remote is low although it doesn't state it. Is there a simple remote for this system as other systems have smaller remotes. Your remotes are big and bulky, a simple open lock A+B start would be better. C an I get a simple remote to work with this system?I am so sorry about what I wrote above, I took the battery out and dropped it on the floor and it took me quite a while to get it from under the couch. When I put it back in it beeped and chirped so I went to the window and pointed it to the car and low and behold it started. So I am back in business, but I still wish the remote wasn't so big and bulky. Think of what folks do with their keys, like put them in their pocket along with cellphone and wallet can you imagine the bulkiness. Women have pocketbooks and bags buy us men only have our pockets. Make a smaller remote like the other companies. I would also like to say if your car does not have a chip in the key the remote start works without a module.

Good product for the price
This product is great for the price, but it does have one flaw that I have encountered thus far. I have experienced that the alarm siren will not sound one I press the panic/lock/unlock buttons. This happens sometimes maybe once a week and normally returns to normal. Now I thought that the siren may have been defective and went to the shop that installed it and they told me that it is one of the flaws of this unit. My concern is that maybe when I need the alarm to go off because someone is breaking in, it might be in its mode of not sounding. Otherwise, all other function work to perfection. Although considering that the Prestige unit is only about 30 or 40 dollars more, I would have preferred to go that route because even for replacement parts, it is easier to find parts for Prestige units.

Great Car Alarm Feature wise for the money
Great car alarm, a bunch of features with remote start, warning don't forget to buy yourself a hood pin if your car doesn't have a factory one, This is a massive safety feature for you & your mechanic. The install manual was written in very broken English and took a bit of reading to get figured out, but has all your inputs and outputs labeled and explains what you are looking with your multi meter. If your car or truck has a dome light delay i would advice against hooking it up.Only major con is that remotes feel cheap, and unable to change park light output with out relay but for a $70 two way alarm with remote start it works well

overall good
Had a little trouble at first figuring the alarm out- thought it didnt work. In any case, make sure the remote is not set to "Remote Locked Mode" or else none of the buttons will work ! Doh!The biggest issue with this alarm is that nobody wants to install it since it is a no-name brand. You can find the company website and phone number if you search performance teknique on google. For the price the alarm works very well. It has the remote start, keyless entry and alarm system. The LCD display is a cool little feature. I bought this primarily for the remote start... it gets cold up here in upstate NY in the winter. It doesnt have any of those safety features for manual transmission cars. Im worried i will try to start it in gear one day, so be careful.

Some problems!!
I bought a pair of these alarms, one for dad and one for me. But mine is not working well. Began to fail two weeks ago, began by not returning my vehicle condition. I made some changes and in the end it was determined that the communication unit which was receiving from the remote control but not transmitting the state to control. Exchanging this unit between my dad's car and mine, I realized that the Communication Unit was damaged. I tried to find this unit independently but not on internet. I have no address support for this alarm, and I would like to solve this problem and I do not intend to buy a full alarm to take only this unit. I would like to get the unit or fix mine. Moreover all works, just do not get any state from the vehicle. The shock sensor is not as sensitive as it should be in any of the two vehicles (sensors calibrated to max sensitive). If the alarm is triggered the vehicle can turn on and not locked (the manual says it should not turn on). I would like someone to help me.

Awesome product and seller!
I was surprised with the functionalities or features of this 2-way car alarm system with remote starter. I was able to installed it successfully and was very happy with the product. It wasn't easy to install and need a lot of research since this is my first time I'm installing an alarm system to my Toyota 4Runner 1997. The price is really a great deal, I can't find as low as this one with cool functionalities. I'm planning on buying another one for my 4Runner 2008 model. If you are planning to install it by yourself you need to read the manual very careful and find more help in the internet because of the complexity. Youtube is a good resource and finding the wire color coding for your specific car in the internet will be a great help! Overall this product is awesome and I highly recommended! Not to forget the seller, the item was delivered fast and the product is in good condition. Thank you!!!

Good
I had some trouble with this. I accidentally locked myself out of the ignition soon after getting it, and also accidentally put it on a timer start. I think this was due to not reading instructions. Some of the buttons were backwards too. Again, I think this was more due to the installer error than the product. The most annoying thing is that it goes through batteries fast. I used rechargeable AAAs and had no issue. Still, depending on how much you use the remote start, the batteries could last 1 week to 2 months. The shock sensor was far too sensitive. Definitely worth the cost though.

Good product
well, i have this thing installed. so far works good. only con is i find the siren a little to soft and should be louder, i'm contemplating on adding my factory horn with a relay for additional noise. remote starts well, can't use the trunk release feature cuz my car doesn't have an automatic trunk release. it also supports widows rolling up but secondary module is required. alarm is also not too sensitive and only goes off when someone actually touches or bumps into the car. overall, so far i'm satisfied.

Remote start ready
I have bought this item with the idea of starting my car remotely only to find out that I need a module to do so. Im not bashing the device, just saying that I thought all the things necessary would of come with it seeing that they had WITH REMOTE START on their box. It would of been helpful if they had recommendations for modules or a website with an in-dept manual about the remote feature but now I have this alarm WITH OUT remote start... and it pisses me off!UpdatedSorry as I did not know a bypass module was needed for cars with a sensor in the key. The alarm is loaded with features and operates very well. I hope my ignorance did not steer potential buyers else where but as for this alarm; this is a winner.

Great range and works very well!
This was a major pain to install, but it works very well. I started my car from exactly 1.2 miles away from my home while riding with my wife on 11/17/2013.Installed this in a 2002 Mazda Protégé5. I highly recommend having this unit installed professionally if you do not understand automotive wiring systems very well. I was a mechanic for 13 years and also performed over 300 car audio systems in my life time. It was a challenge even for someone with my skillset.

Love it!
This alarm is awesome! i it was $120 to install it with power lock actuators. my old car finally has keyless entry! this 2 way alarm feels so high end, the price is unbelievable. The shock sensor is great and the range is definitely good enough to work across large parking structures. The only thing bad about this was that horn/siren is pretty quiet compared to other alarms and the manual is in complete broken english and the wiring diagram for the power lock actuators were confusing. Aside from that, once you get it working, you won't be disappointed! i just bought another one to install in my other car!

Beware!
I had this system installed for $500 at CarToys. They told me that day that this was a poor choice of system. Immediately it was clear one of the remotes was defective. Now I only have one and it is on its last leg. I am going to be out the cost of installing it because there is NO WAY to get new remotes. I called the seller and they told me to call the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer who told me to find a dealer and hung up on me! No local car accessories places retail this brand because it is obviously poor quality. It is not worth buying this system and frankly it is a real gamble. Simply googling it displays all the tales of woe from people who can't get their car to start anymore, can't get the alarm to turn off, can't get any customer support... i wish I went with a reliable brand and had a way to protect my investment and get a new remote. I am desperate now but there is no one there to help. Notice how people have already asked in the questions section on replacement remotes and all those are UNANSWERED. Do not make the same mistake I did!!

I was going to have someone professional install the remote ...
I was going to have someone professional install the remote start and alarm. But all the places I checked wanted minimum of $500 for installation. I wasn't prepared to spend that much so I requested permission to return the item which was graciously granted. End of story. Check installation cost in your area before ordering.
