How often do I need to use the DYE Fixitive on the same article of clothing?Don't want my black jeans to fade so do I need to do this before each wash

Vinegar seems to make the dye hold tighter. I would not dye them before every wash. Make sure you can set the dye with hot water. My girlfriend used to wash hers every week with vinegar in the wash water, and she always had the blackest jeans.

Will this strip all color from a garment? I'm trying to fix an item that was made to look vintage.

Sets the colors, not strip. Keeps deep color from bleeding & fading. I used this on Cranberry tablecloth.

Sunbleached clothes, will it fix this?

*You have to dye/color the clothing first. You have to follow the directions completely in order to get the color you want. That includes having the water very hot for the dying of the clothing. Then you'll want to use the Rit Dye Fixative to set the color in the garment.

After using this product, and after a few washes, do I still have to separate the dyed items from the rest of my laundry?

After following the instructions on the rit dye website I washed my laundry as normal without separating the laundry. I didn't experience any color bleed

Great product, very effective

I bought this as I had to re dye my sons t-shirt after he had left it out too long in the sun and the sun had bleach part of it. After relying it I used this and it came up like a new shirt. he was very pleased with the result as was I.

I think it works as claimed.

I tried on 2 Ts and polyester shorts of black and dark maroon. It bleeds a little as described. After treatment, washed in cold water with a littler detergent and didn't see any colour bleeding.
