XL Voyager 5.5" AUS10A Tanto Point Razor-Sharp Blade 6.75" Griv-Ex Handle Everyday Carry Tactical Folding Knife w/Tri-Ad Lock

I love this knife. It is literally perfect in every conceivable way. What one would use it for varies from person to person, I would imagine, but there are no shortages of purposes this knife could serve. In my opinion, this is a great camping knife. Okay, granted, it's better to have a fixed blade when camping or in a situation where survival relying upon a folding knife would not be ideal. However, this knife comes literally sharp as a razor blade and is capable of many functions. You can easily use this knife the same way you would a fixed blade, but I would not baton with it. You could do some light to even moderate chopping. This knife would certainly serve as a fine utility blade. Personally, I like the tanto tip for a stronger tip. This knife could be used as a hunting knife, fishing knife and, yes, this knife screams self-defense BEAST. This knife is made with great AUS10A steel blade, excellent grip for the handle which would be ideal in the rain or like I said as a fishing and hunting knife with blood or slime on it. This knife is perfect for what it is, built with quality materials, superb workmanship, and cast-iron vault lock but, with all of that being said about how great this knife is and how great Cold Steel is, do you know what I like best about this knife? The price.

This perfect knife is built like a bulwark. All screws were tight with no blade wobble up or down nor side to side. The outstanding triad lock turns the folder into a fixed blade for hard use applications. The textured nylon handle is easily gripped with thumb on blade, standard full grip or butt in palm for chopping. The stone washed extra sharp blade is ground on just one side combining sharpness with strength. The strong clip is easily adjusted to relieve tension. Extra strength contact cement can be applied on the inside of pockets to avoid shreading yet maintain clip strength. I recommend this knife for edc and hard use.

I have been collecting voyager knives for many many years. Since they first came out from the fantastic Cold Steel genius’; I believed that there would never be a folding knife better nor more of ‘a folding sword’ than the original Voyager XL. I have misplaced a very special case that I had used exclusively for my many versions of the Voyager Knives in my ever growing collection... it’s somewhere in my many locked safety boxes. But I hid these beautiful knives too well. When I saw Amazon had this specific tanto serrated XL version of the line of Voyagers... at this crazy good price... well I bought a couple, until I straighten my garage (again) and find the treasures! But this knife is made with AUS 10. Many of the best Cold Steel knives use VG10. AUS10 is a rarely seen alloy that has massive strength and attributes that are really off the charts. The tanto design with the proprietary Cold Steel serrations makes for a very very serious knife!!! I mean this knife can be a pry bar and a breaching tool. It’s a very long knife when open, that has my favorite locking system in the lock back that on this knife is beyond secure. I have endless love for this piece of powerful art. So many of the knives in my collection are never used; except for the one that inspired me to obtain more of a specific line or type of my bladed collection. There are contenders to the Voyager for ‘the best folder ever’ in my mind. But when you put together all the parts: handle, alloy, design, function and a near indestructible knife... it’s a constant top 10. If you have never owned a Voyager, I recommend this knife highly. Amazon has another large version (slightly shorter) as well. Both are tremendous values. But this is not even close to an EDC... It’s a blade for the jungle and the battle. It’s a rare thing that has great show appeal because of its greater capabilities. You will always sleep sound with this nearby. I prefer knives to guns. Nothing wrong with a great pistol or Browning Hi Power at all. But I grew up in Texas where everyone had guns in everything. My desire to make things and the artist inside the ancient dude; made knives into more than just weapons. My EDC folders are from many makers. They all have the same thing in common... the legal limitations of knives carried outside your home; and used for emergencies and self defense. I have friends who can’t get past these limits (especially here in California). But it makes your knife into a potential negative vs. positive tool. So please remember that this Voyager is too much knife for the streets. But it’s also exactly perfect!

Super impressed with this blade. The entire thing front to back is razor sharp out of the box including every serration. If you held the handle like a violin bow and let the weight of the blade do its thing, it’d slice all the way to the bone in your finger in one stroke. So imagine what it does with some effort. Sturdy construction, not even the slightest bit of blade play in the handle, and the blade itself is thick, you can tell it would take some serious effort to break this thing. Really nice grip in the handle and the lock is incredibly solid. For the price point, the blade is an absolute steal.

I’ve never liked serrated edges until now and honestly, I still prefer a plain edge but this knife - this is my exception. I had two other voyager xls before but this is my new favorite. Everything about this knife is perfect. Its sharper-than-razor sharp, has an incredibly strong lock, well balanced weight and very respectable blade steel. I don’t know what Cold Steel does to their AUS-10a but it’s a great performer. If you’re on the fence, please buy this knife if you like larger blades. It’s perfect. And all for a great price! Amazing!

One word for this beast knife: IMPRESSIVE!! This thing is thick, solid, durable, tough, and sturdy. Great strong lock. Despite being huge, it slips into jeans pockets easily. Steel has been upgraded, the serrations are sharp and unstoppable, easy to open, tons of grip possibilities on the long handle. There are so many great things about this fun blade. I personally think it’s a nice hiking or camping knife because it’ll do anything from open a plastic bag to chop up small limbs. Despite being really a big folder, it can do some smaller tasks. Rope or cord cutting, chopping, slicing, even a bread knife! It’s a tool like all knives and it has many uses. In addition to being useful, it’s durable, inexpensive, and just plain fun to own. It’s a small investment for such a big cool knife. I have 2. Pair it with a Swiss Army knife and you’re covered on a camping trip.

Awesome heavy blade that is scary sharp.... I let my mower get too close to a plastic tarp and this knife sliced right threw the knotted tarp. I would have been forever using a smaller pocket knife. Good knife to have available, to heavy to lug around in your pocket unless you are in one of the big cities....good for carrying in a back pack, in your car, etc. I have several Cold Steel serrated blades mostly kitchen knives and they have stayed sharp for 20 years.

I have allot of knives. But I really only carry a few. This is one. When I don't feel like rigging up a fixed blade but need something big that will chew up and spit out anything from an amazon box to a car tire, I just grab this. Seriously, fits in the pocket. I've had to pin a rattler with a stick and cut it before, twice, and you just don't want to be under knived out on the ranch...Rock solid. I can afford anything, but it's only Cold Steel then Topps knives for my working knives.
